LADA have made an attempt to return to the WTCC, however have done themselves no favors this weekend in the build up to the races at Monza:



James Thompson was able to put some qualifying times in, however thanks to the crash, there are vulnerabilities in the safety cell, Alexsei Dudukalo's blunder-bus is totally out for the count, Marrakech is in 2 weeks, and it's not looking likely that Lada will appear there thanks to the work that now needs doing on both cars.

Rob Huff also ruined his car in the opening stages of Qually (Black and Red SEAT):


Back of the grid for Huffy. 2nd in Morning practice, but Stefano D'Aste fastest thanks to the weather. In the dry qualifying, Muller was obviously quick in a year old Chevy-Cruz, and there were only 5 drivers within breathing distance.

And what kind of qualifying session is that?

...one where they've taken the whole drafting thing to extremes, monza is no oval.

They should just let them run through the chicanes, may as well go the whole way and create some NASCAR style chaos.

I find the wtcc quaily very boring and just watch the races

And noisy Chevy and noisy Peugeot put on quite a show, I must say.

The way they left Boardman's car there in between the Lesmos on teh last lap with that visibility... appalling!!

That is some pretty awesome racing. Oh, and the Turismo Carretera had the worst rolling start I have ever seen...and I've watched TORA TV...

I think I am going to have to pay a bit more attention to the Pirelli World Championship this year.

DTM's DRS, FML.

I'd heard about that, I think it's interesting but not really needed. DTM should just allow them to use as they want, when they want. Not in zones.

The STCC/TTA merger for 2013 means that there is just one touring car championship in Sweden now. The switch to NGTC was abandoned.

So did I, I also remember Johnathan Palmer wanted to run a touring car championship with the same format as his Formula Palmer Audi series, boost button and all...


This was 2004/5 and It looks like an NGTC car!

Imagine such beasts around Cadwell...

Its too narrow for Matt Neal and Team Tesco to even try to do any damage on purpose.
