Re: Seat Leon Supercup Media
A slight change in the paint area then required, which i guess passed an hour on a Friday evening and i still have my body parts attached in the correct places, so all good!!
Due to having zero imagination, and basically the colours seemed to work well on the Seat Leon, its had a lick of paint now, based roughly on the Eddie Sharp Racing scheme ran by Justin Lofton in the Camping World Trucks, which i think always looked the business. Sponsorship coming from the American giant in electronic motors and instruments in Ametek. I would say that the deal involved some long hard discussions but truth be know, it was the first page i came to and the colours worked with the car.
So there we have it, effort now put into a paint, body parts in place and a Seat Leon dressed in drag.

Re: Seat Leon Supercup Media
The opening round of the TORA TCR Seat Leon Supracup was on Friday evening, a simple straight forward format, one race for approximately 45 minutes in pretty much stock Seat Leon Supracup's, which is a cracker of a car to start off with, the one subtle difference, Drag Tyres are fitted. The drag tyre debate will go on and on, me personally, i love it, it brings another element into the game, an element which has sadly lacked in Forza Motorsports and hopefully once Forza 5 comes around, will be recitfied. The Seat Leon though, handles the drag tyres well, no issues in that department and with a superb calendar, will hopefully keep me busy for the next seven weeks.
Just 22 cars in the pits for the opening round at the Twin Ring Motegi and the East Circuit playing host to 28 laps of racing action. I had done a fair bit of testing for this one, no stranger to the Seat leon Supracup, i think this is the fifth series i have now run in it on various sites, the first time on drag tyres, but the base tune in the bank was pretty nippy, i had run a fair few laps in the 1:14's in test sessions, and strangely, was feeling confident, which is unusual for myself in a FWD car.
Qualifying was a five lap dash, an out lap and four flying laps, so nailing a lap early was crucial and thankfully on Lap Three, i popped in a 1:15:081, which was good enough for fourth on the grid, which i was pretty pleased with to be honest.
The race then, well qualifying fourth at the Twin Ring East, does give you the inside line going into Turn One, and from a good start i climbed along side iTeknik in third, unfortunately slight contact going into Turn One caused slight aero damage. ONR Burnz and ShrinkingSteven were battling out front, iTeknik following close by in third, myself was running a steady fourth place, unfortunately the lap times were half a second down on what i had been running, as the aero damage seemed to slow the car down alot, which did surprise me as the contact and damage wasnt bad.
BG Hainsey had an eventful opening couple of laps including a grass tracking moment which made for the lovely poster at the top of the thread and in my Facebook Events page header for next weeks second round at Catalunya National. But he was always there looking to clean up on any mistakes i made, applying the pressure but thankfully, the round of pit stops worked more in my favour, and once the pit stops had been completed, i was lying a lonely fourth place on the track.
ONR Burnz took an early pit stop, iTeknik took a late pit stop and as the race wound down, the front three were definitely closing on each other, making for a tense grand finale. They wernt the only ones closing, BG Hainsey in the gorgeous looking Voadfone Seat Leon was chipping away at my lead over him, and the last few laps saw the tyres just starting to go away slightly quicker than i wanted them to, but thankfully, a gap big enough to maintain a fourth place finish at the chequered flag.
All in all, a good bit of entertainment for a Friday evening, looking forward to next week, Congratulations to ONR Burnz on the win, the Corse La Vittora boys taking it to the flag to close out the podium. As always, more photos on my Facebook page, including one that looks like this
