Just joined - looking for some grown-up, online racing

Hi everyone,

Just joined TORA in the hope of finding some grown up racing (i.e. no kids playing bumper cars or people who drop out if they are not going to win).

Hoping to make better use of my xbox/Fanatec/Wheelstand rig.

Looking for a gentle start in high-performance road cars, then maybe touring cars and the GT/sports cars... Love driving the Nurburgring.

The TORA Touring Car Championship is currently underway and there should be a spot available for you to sign up. There is also a North American version of the series.

A Spec Series and an Audi R8 GT Series are also just starting.

And, since you love driving the Nurburgring, TORA hosts an annual endurance race around the Nurburgring. Usually sometime in December.

If you're looking for 'proper' racing you've certainly come to the right place.
Plenty to look at and more coming up as the season moves on. If you're looking at roadcars first, I recommend our TCR Spec series as a good starting point.
Golfs will be kicking off soon, there's also the R8 Cup for when you fancy trying some serious GT cars

Are there any beginners' races? I have very little online racing experience, as most of my driving so far has been timed laps. I think I'm fast enough but am probably lacking in race-craft and don't want to cause an accident.

Still reading the forums to try to work out exactly how to get racing (I do know that I need to wait for my number).

Is there a TORA Forza 4 car club?

There is a Car Club but I believe that's reserved for TORA Staff and testing groups.

The Spec Cup is being treated as a beginner's cup, with slower cars than what you'd usually find around here.

Thanks. Looks like the Spec Cup kicks off at Murello on the 15th. I can't see it n the calendar though - is that normal?

Hopefully I'll have my TORA number by then, so I'll be able to enter.

Your race number has been approved. The calendar is currently not in use. That is correct the Spec series kicks off tomorrow night at Mugello Club.

It will be a great event to sink your teeth into and learn just what you want race craft and close action racing.

Do I just need to register as 'IN' in the correct forum and them be online 15 minutes before the race is due to start?
