Hello once again for another edition of TORA Q&A. As it's the 'Big One' at the Green Hell this weekend we thought it appropriate to bring you not one but TWO Q&A sessions. So first up this week is Australian dirt speedway racer Matthew Day


What series do you currently race in?
Heffernan Motorsports series (dirt speedway series)
Favourite car you have driven/bike ridden?
Favourite bike would certainly have to be the current bikes 500cc GM engine with Jawa Racing fram


What would be your dream car?
Definitely an Aston Martin DB9

What's your favourite thing to do when you are not racing?
My favourite thing to do when I’m not racing is to train and work on bikes

What is your favourite circuit?
Tamworth, New South Wales

Do you/Have you used race simulations?
I’ve been playing racing simulators like V8 race driver pro 1, 2 and 3, Forza 3, Forza 4, multiple motocross and sprint car games, and all the Formula 1 games on the current console. Besides that, anything like rFactor I haven’t had the opportunity.

What is your proudest racing moment so far?
My proudest racing moment so far would have to be winning the under 16 350cc Speedway making it two state titles in the one year and winning them both with 6 ride maximums.

Do you think more could be done to help young talent progress in motorsport?
I believe a lot could be done to help young talent. Some ideas could be greater tv coverage on the bigger meetings within the season to help promote us riders to bigger and better things. Also I reckon more tracks around the country. As the councils are shutting down tracks it is becoming harder on the pocket as more and more travel is needed in order to stay at and elite level.

What's the plan for the rest of the season?
My plan for the rest of the season is to improve my fitness even more and to ensure I can keep my consistency on the bike at a high level so I can take state titles and take the ultimate one, the Australian title
