Re: Real life British GT
Is anyone looking to go to the Brands Hatch round. Other then that, I hope some team enters a R8 GT3 soon and maybe a Sagaris GT3.
Re: Real life British GT
I might be going to the Knockhill round, really looking foward to it if I go, because I havn't experienced any kind of GT machinery before.

Re: Real life British GT
Your love it, but I still think taking Thruxton off the calander is a mistake.
Re: Real life British GT
I would like to go to the Knockhill GT race, when is it? I also wanted to go to the BTCC but I think we are going on holiday on the sunday
Re: Real life British GT
I should be at Knockhill for the BGT this year, think it's a week after the BTCC (which I'll be at too!), and planning on getting up for the Time Attack/Euro Drift Championship too in May.
EDIT - they've actually changed it, the BGT is now in June. Fancy arranging a Knockhill meet?

Re: Real life British GT
Anyone going up to the Britcar 24 hours
24 is bold because there has been speculation that it's going to be only 6hours, but i have insider info that this is false ;D

Re: Real life British GT
I might visit it this year, since my D90 can last longer on one battery. Compared to more then 4 AA batteries in my FinePix S9500.AZT Mad Monk wrote:Anyone going up to the Britcar 24 hours

News
It looks like the Mosler MT900 is returning to the British GT. In adition to that, I have read this on the British GT website:
Latest of the big names to announce their participation are ex-England players Luther Blissett and Les Ferdinand, whose team48 squad has joined forces with Team Modena to field a pair of Lamborghini Gallardos in the championship, the first stage in a three-year plan with the Le Mans 24 Hours as the goal.
“I am really looking forward to it,” said Blissett, one of team48’s five drivers. “For an up-and-coming team like ours to get the opportunity to work with a squad like Team Modena is something we had to grasp. Le Mans is the aim but we are not expecting to jump in the cars and win instantly; we have to build up and get experience over two or three years. The drivers will be headed by Callum Lockie, with myself, Les Ferdinand, Kevin Haggarthy, Darelle Wilson and Matthew Gore forming the pool of drivers.”
Re: Real life British GT
Team48?! Didnt they turn up at the BTCC media day and never tur up for any of the races?

Re: Real life British GT
The organisers confirmed ages ago that the race would be renamed the Silverstone 500 rather than the Britcar 6hrs.
The reason is to secure the company AND cut costs for competitors this year ith a hope to moving back to a 24hr format in 2010.
Either way I shall be there and highly recommend it for anyone

Here is some more news:
Source: Official British GT Website
Front-running team RPM Motorsport – title winner in 2007 with Alex Mortimer and Bradley Ellis – is shortly to take delivery of one of Ford's V8-powered GT supercars and is aiming for a full assault on the British GT title.
RPM’s machine has just been completed at the Swiss workshops of FIA GT3 European Champions Matech. It will, says Alex Mortimer, be a force to be reckoned with on UK circuits: “We gave the Ford GT its British racing debut last year, and won first time out, at Snetterton. That one-off drive really whetted our appetite for more, and we can’t wait to get our hands on the Ford and begin our testing programme. The GT looks stunning and will be as fast as it looks…”
RPM Motorsport plans not only to run the Ford GT but also a Dodge Viper and, depending on demand, selected outings with its GT4 class Ginettas. “We are talking to a number of drivers about the coming season,” says Mortimer, “at a difficult time for all, businesses interest is high and the response to the car has been very positive, however we are still keen to talk to interested parties about what will be undoubtedly the best car on the grid for 2009."
