XPLR - Ranger's Tarmac Terrors - Season 2

That's right, Season 2 of the Tarmac terrors is here!! (Well almost!)

The 'Terrors' is the place to get your AWD fix, Expect sub 3 second 0-60 times and plenty of turbo'd goodness.

Season 1 saw Mitsubishi and Subaru go head to head pitting the Impreza against the EVO VIII.
After a hard fought season Mitsubishi claimed victory.

Season 2 will once again be an all Japanese affair, Mitsubishi and Subaru will be joined by Nissan in a fight for Japanese AWD dominance.
Each manufacturer has provided 3 cars to take to the track, and are as follows:

2008 Lancer Evo X

Subaru

1998 Impreza 22B
2005 Impreza WRX
2008 Impreza WRX

Nissan

1993 Skyline R32
1997 Skyline R33
2002 Skyline R34


The cars are spec'd to a Pi range of S665-S674 and a power range of 407Hp-431Hp.

This series will be held on Fridays at 9pm BST

Round 1

The first round or the Tarmac Terrors took us to the Italian track of Mugello. With both variants of the tracks being used it could see different cars excelling at each track. Qualifying took place at it was EMW Raul that took pole by other 2 tenths of a second to his teammate XPR Mad Dog, XPR Eggy took the 3rd. B lobby contestants saw rougewilson78 pip the rest by half a second to Spunge84 with his teammate Terrier78 taking 3rd.

Race 1





Race 1 saw EMW Raul turn his pole position into a race victory, With XPR Mad Dog finishing 2nd and XPR Eggy keeping him honest all the way to the finish. S2M DeLLoRTo finishing right behind him. B lobby saw rougewilson78 also convert his pole into a race victory, with Terrier72 and TJSteel finishing 2nd & 3rd respectively.


Race 2




There was a lot of confusion surrounding the set up for race 2 but the races got underway and EMW Raul again leading from start to finish in A Lobby. With S2M DeLLoRTo leading the rest of the pack home with XPR EGGY taking the last podium spot. B Lobby and all was the same with rougewilson78 taking it from flag to flag. With Teammates Spunge84 and Terrier72 taking the last two spots on the podium.

Race 3




Race 3 was a longer reversed grid race which would see the faster guys having to try and work their way past the rest of the field to clinch the final race win. Once again it was the usual suspect to take the win in A lobby for the final race, EMW Raul. His teammate XPR Mad Dog came home 2nd with S2M DeLLoRTo taking the final spot on the podium. In B Lobby, Spunge84 took his first XPLR win with rougewilson78 taking 2nd and AndyT306 snapping up 3rd.


I was very impressed with tonight's standard of racing and can't wait for round 2 at Road Atlanta Club & Full! But how did your race go? 

Round 2 is this Friday and with 2 drop score rounds, there is still plenty of time to compete and win in this championship!

Next Round, Sebring. There is a test session tonight at 9PM BST. There are 2 drop rounds for this championship so you can sign up for this Friday's race and still have a shot at the championship which is turning out to be a right good battle!
