Re: MSA TORA Spec Cup Season 2 - Media
had a real scary moment coming to turn one !
164+ mph and caught the grass inside and locked the wheels under braking, with panic i just held the brake, by pure luck the car stopped just before hitting the barrier !
Was a scary ride !

Re: MSA TORA Spec Cup Season 2 - Media
The final destination in Season Two for the TORA Spec Cup wasnt a million miles away from the penultimate week, in fact it was over the top of the fence as the Nurburgring Nordscheife played host to the twenty two cars showing up. Two 3 lap races and a sudden death qualifying sessions facing the teams as they bid farewell to the 1997 BMW E36 M3 in one last hurrah around 'The Green Hell' , although theres a vicous rumour that PLOW Tubbi was shipping his Rockford Fosgate M3 home in just the hand luggage after destroying it on the final lap of Race Two.
I will avoid the embarrassment of the actual incident, but its fair to say the kerbing to the left in the picture over was to blame and it did go at quite a speed.
Practice this week, well for myself, a very enjoyable experience, i have only just really learnt the finer details of the Nordschleife, to the extent that i know whats coming next and what speed i need to be doing it at, plus the car was a complete blast around here, it was like it had built and tuned to just how i wanted it, and although im far from being fast around here, i had the car running 8:35's - 8:37's every lap, all clean as well and a fastest lap of 8:34:077 coming into the evening.
Unfortunately i had gloated this fact to my team mate in ATP Steamy, as well as a couple of friends in the party and it started well with the out lap in qualifying being a clean 8:48:872, and then in the second corner of my flying lap, yes thats the second corner of the 174 making up the lap, i dirtied my flying lap, what a muppet!!
So with the limited overtaking at the Nordschleife and the man to beat sitting level on points in the other qualifying lobby, i simply blew it, bottled it, choked at the wrong moment, thankfully the time was good enough for Lobby One, but qualifying 8th on the grid was disappointing, especially with XBR Immortal doing a solid job of an 8:38 and being a few spots ahead on the grid.
Race One of the evening saw a tight affair, TG Haydo was away out front, setting a fastest lap of 8:21 along the way to another victory and the title in the series, and congratulations on that, a dominant force throughout every round. PLOW Tubbi and Victor Jansen in pursuit, Lightning071 and XBR Immortal having a good battle, with myself just behind, but never able to catch the duo up, as i made it a sixth place finish and with XBR Immortal's fourth place, a huge task in trying to finish second in the Championship now. A word about Bli33ard and BG Checo and there battle towards the back, which sounded to be a fun place to be.
Race two of the evening was just nuts from the off!! PLOW Tubbi got the run ahead of TG Haydo, who made something called a mistake which dropped ground for a short while, but they produced a quick battle out front. Victor Jansen also made a small mistake and was swamped, myself and XBR Immortal decided that side by side racing through the fast hander before the bridge was a good idea, Lightning 071 was a man on a mission in the Mello Yello M3, although perhaps the front springs may need checking before its next race as this pictures demonstrates
For myself, a major mistake in the big group and i lost four spots immediately, including watching XBR Immortal out front of me, the chance for second was gone. Bli33ard and BG Checo decided to continue race two in the same way as race one, a battle towards the back, with lots of oooh's and aaaargh's!! PLOW Tubbi found the limit via the fast righthander going up the hill on the long straight, it didnt end well and 106 mph was now a distant dream in the speed department.
All in all, a superb way to round off whats been a fantastic and entertaining season, i shall plug the Facebook Site one last time for the series, pop along to WheelwashRacingMedia and enjoy a whole host of pictures from various events im involved in, theres 70 photos from this series alone on there.
A big thank you to Bli33ard for a tremedous series and all the volunteers helping run qualifying lobbies, live timing and such, a great team effort. Also the drivers in the series, its been a really clean and friendly series in Lobby One, good racing, hard racing but clean racing, all done in a fantastic spirit, which is what its all about in my eyes.

Wheelwash does it again! Amazing write up. Made up for the previous one not being there tenfold!!!
I really do enjoy reading these, I'm thinking of putting them into a 'Season Review' PDF that includes details, qualifying times, race finishes etc... collectors items! Also so you can print them off (if you want) and store them...
Also I'm thinking they would be awesome to have at TORA presentations/events' etc to give out/have a look at

Thank you for the kind words VictorJansen and Bli33ard, yeah last week was a bad week unfortunately the body stopped working properly for a few days so i never had time to get around to writing anything, plus one replay didnt load paints and well, it was just never going to happen, lol!!
Glad you enjoy them, its something i always enjoy doing when time and body allows me too, i guess my small escape zone from the real world for a couple of hours and giving something back to those that invest there time in organising such good events, something i have been at the sharp end myself on and understand the amount of work that it takes to sort. I have to pick and choose my events at the moment, but always try to make an effort for the full series when i can.
