I recorded a lap of me going around, managed a 57.2 in the vette. I'm not the quickest but these are my lines around this track, if they help then sweet and I'm open to anything that may help me improve aswell! Btw I messed the corner at the end of the mulsanne and broke too early, it's why I cut it abit Embarassed

First 10 minutes of stint 8, started at the near the back and carefully made my way through the back apart from for mopar who shot off at the beginning and stayed there all stint.

Not bad. Think in-car might have been better, and turning notifications off, but I think people will get the gist of it.

Helpful Mad dog Thank you.

Between watching Mario and you i should be smashing my 4.04 in no time Smile

May i ask, Are you in third right through the porsche curves?
I keep unsettling the car under braking for the first part of em. Too agressive i think i am.

Thanks again for the lap Smile

That gear sequence alone should help.

I'm not too keen on the corner entrys where you run 2 wheels out on the 'dirt' but I know it is a bit quicker.

I find myself pushing through the corner as you approach Indianapolis and then braking rather than braking before like you did. Is this just so you can set yourself up for the corner better?

Thats what a sportsman are about, apreciate the effort Mad Dog, nice hop lap, cant really see where you could shave some more time appart from the 1st chicane on the long straight, if u cut it a bit more straight jumping on the rumble strips i believe you will hit the 4.56 mark Twisted Evil

then that lap would be dirty, and from what i saw, would be considered corner cutting

myself for the Porsche Curves, i downshift to 4th for the entrance, and remain until the exit corner where i drop it to 3rd. otherwise, my line is very much similar to yours Mad Dog, outside the 'dirty' parts of the Mulsanne.

I meant curve 1 and 2, yes curve 3 if you step on the line the lap will be dirty, as a race the 1st two curves may look corner cutting but wont give you dirty lap.

regardless if it doesn't give you a dirty lap, it's still considered "Corner Cutting" and is frowned upon here.

Like i sayed as race goes may look or be consider corner cutting but, still a clean lap by forza itself lol, by the way,so on qualifying session it will be frowned too?

I dont see the problem. Im aware I can cut these corners alot more and I would consider my lines quite resonable seeing the amount I could cut everything. Embarassed

Example Lap Onboard XPR Mad Dog Empty Re: Example Lap Onboard XPR Mad Dog

Post by Duke of Bruno Thu 20 Jun 2013 - 16:33

I could not find this within the TORA 24 Hours of Le Mans - Rules and Regulations but I think this is still pertinent:
MSA TORA ISCC Season 5 - Rules and Regulations

Track Limits

The track limits are determined by the solid white/yellow lines either side of the track. At all times, two wheels must remain on this part of the circuit, unless of an occurrence where it is near to impossible to keep two wheels on the track, like avoiding a collision. During a race meeting, each time the track limits are not adhered to, a warning will be given. Each driver are allowed five warnings of all four wheels leaving the track via the inside of a corner, at any part of the circuit. If a sixth and subsequent "corner cutting" occurrences happen within a race meeting, then that driver will lose a position for each corner cut. Again, if a corner is cut to avoid a collision, this would not be given a warning.

The track limits must be adhered to in the event of gaining an advantage whilst having an on-track battle. If a driver overtakes a driver by getting all four wheels off the track, the driver must give that position back before they may continue the race. If the driver which was overtaken backs off heavily either through incident or "mechanical" failure, then the position will not need to be given back.
also, ...
TORA 2013 Sporting Regulations

Respecting track limits

This will be the final time that track limits are mentioned , the track is defined by the white lines surrounding the circuit this meaning you are to stay within these guide lines .
In the future anyone seen to be using track limits to an advantage this including overtaking will result in a penalty structure coming into action.
1, Race warning.
2, Qualification penalty.
3, Race suspension.

It is a shame Forza does not let you view a replay past a certain amount of time to check for corner cutting and other incidents.

Qually is the same as a race.

We count clean laps but track limits are the over riding rule i believe.
If you get caught then you can be penalised.
Some qually sessions may be streamed and you could look a right pillock if seen to be cutting Smile
