Motivational Help Empty Motivational Help

Hello everyone!

I am encouraging you guys to help give me some confidence and motivation, as I just haven't been myself, any comments posted in here that are deemed supportive, feel free to post, ugh... Why must I be so dull, boring and just annoying in general? I cannot help feeling this way but I guess it is because I go through a lot, can you all try and give me some support?

Thanks,

You're young. Therefore you have a naive outlook.

Try to just have fun. Don't worry about what spot you are battling for, treat every battle as if its for the A Lobby win. Focus on how to catch that little spec of a car up the road, then when you catch it figure out how to get past it as quick and safe as possible. But most of all, have the most fun that you can.

Um, Stan... I really hope for your sake that Carbon Viper is of legal drinking age. Otherwise, you just told a kid to get shnookered.

You did really well in the ISCC tonight mate Very Happy

You had decent pace until you picked up some damage and then stuck with it to still get some decent miles.
Stick with it and remember after all is said and done we all do this for fun so just make sure you enjoy yourself and if you get decent results that's a bonus!!

Ever had that feeling where nothing goes to plan but it is? and you give it your best but it isn't enough? I cannot get over the fact that I am just so slow and I made contact with my team mate, which didn't help either! Ugh, not a good one I think.

I had one of those days. It was called "Saturday". Planned for weeks to get teams sorted and tunes made for the CT TEC race, only to have a missed stint in every single car, for all sorts of reasons.
And yet, our cars finished 7th in LMP and 8th in GT.

Yep, when my tuning is about as good as a postman's, it is understandable how I just don't feel myself...

Both of us joined here at a similar time and are usually a similar pace (we're often in the same lobby) so I wouldn't worry too much about your results.
I'm faster than every single one of my friends but on here the competition is on another level. There are many people on here who have been sim racing for a long time and have put many hours of practice in, just keep putting the hours in and you will get quicker, look at tonight, we were both in lobby D, a lobby higher than what we were at Sebring.

And as for things not going to plan in the TEC yesterday the car I was in had a missed stint, on my 2nd stint I had an incident in the 1st lap compromising not only my race but one of our sister cars too and I think another one of our drivers had some trouble too but that's racing and it was still fun.

Yeah, rolling the car 5 times in 3 stints and causing a collision that couldn't be helped in Le Mans and whacking a team mate in Mugello isn't bad? I struggle to have fun because I am hardly challenged or everyone is too challenging.

Copied from the Spec Cup Record Books thread.

Kilroy8 wrote:You're just suffering a crisis of confidence. TORA is a big place, with a lot of fast drivers. When you first start racing here, you get a bit of a reality check, as even drivers in the lower lobbies can comfortably win any public lobby race (aside from being smashed off) so to come here and find yourself near the bottom is quite humbling to say the least. When me and my friend started here, we always dominated public lobbies, but were fighting tooth and nail not to finish in the last 2 places here! Although TORA was a lot smaller then. I feel I have comfortably became a middle-of-the-pack to lower lobby driver. My only claim to fame here is 3 wins in the NATCC and an A lobby appearance in a GT Season 8 race (running as high as second at one point) most drivers here probably wouldn't believe that though Wink.

If you don't enjoy racing here then what is the point? You'd just be adding unnecessary stress. Take your time, you have to finish low sometimes to relish how good finishing high up feels.

I guess, just need that boost from somewhere, if anything, it won't be in the ISCC or Spec Cup, probably TCR races where I am just average, compared to shed.

I recently got some advice from a top Leaderboarder and racer on how he got so fast...

Buy yourself some top tunes from the storefront, and go chase the "ghosts' of those atop the Leaderboards with those tunes. This will teach you the proper lines and braking points on different tracks.

If I'm really off the pace I load up ghosts from people from here on my friends list to see where I can improve and it really does help.
