Re: Driving Passion Thread
I thought this thread was going to be about your enjoyment of driving.
Ie you're either one of two people
Me: 1) You love finesse when driving, getting steering spot on, parking in bays spot on, clutch uptake perfect, braking well in advance, not over revving etc.
or
2) GO NUTS AND BRAKE AND STEER AND ACCELERATE AND GO AS FAST AS POSSIBLE (tubbi?)
Hahahahaha

Re: Driving Passion Thread
got a new family car the other day
don't like it, well it's quiet and smooth and fuel efficient and safe, but:
mum n dad were contemplating a subaru SUV or hatchback (the '08 impreza), WHY NOT or an accord, or civic... yet got that, driving it for the first time this arvo, better not drive like a tank
and my new car (soon):
not great, but it's free, so

Re: Driving Passion Thread
As long as the floorboard is below and the roof above, I am not getting shot at, I'm not stuck in traffic, and the red and blue lights in my mirror are for someone else, my Happy Place is behind the wheel.
Re: Driving Passion Thread
that's my problem- i always manage to get stuck in traffic, always get red lights or roadworks and 90% of QLDers don't have a clue how to drive, or even merge????Flyin Mikey J wrote:As long as the floorboard is below and the roof above, I am not getting shot at, I'm not stuck in traffic, and the red and blue lights in my mirror are for someone else, my Happy Place is behind the wheel.
hopefully before the end of September i can get off my learners permit and onto my P plates so i can get some freedom and some 'me and the road time'

Re: Driving Passion Thread
I'm working up in the Cascades this week, and just did a major overhaul on the front suspension last week. The drive to and from work is in a word: AWESOME!
Twisting two lane road along the MacKenzie River through nothing but forestlands. It really doesn't get better than this.

I thought #1 was the best too. I bet that would freak some people out coming off the trailer.
Re: Driving Passion Thread
Best feeling driving for me was nailing a perfect lap of Donington Park in a 125 ICC Gearbox kart. When you get that place right it's like nothing else

Re: Driving Passion Thread
Quite possibly the best rally car in creation . For a car from the 70's, the beasts that are out there now is amazing. The Class 14's (the green one at 2:27) nowadays have 330hp and weigh about 1,100kg. Which isn't a lot of horsepower but in the flesh they are wicked fast. We went to watch my step-dad at a rally a few months ago and most of the mk2's, including his, where clocking 2-4mph more straight line speed than WRC's. Mk2's. are. amazing.CQR Jono wrote:
