Mega drive's are awesome! I have 2 and the one before it I believe somewhere all working fine.
Remember playing chance HQ on that oh my god such a great game.

I remember playing Sonic, Street Fighter or something where you'd walk to the right of street backgrounds fighting bad guys as you go along, the F1 style game, and a Ninja type thing, was AWESOME.

and P.S I was born in 93, think the Megadrive was 97 as my Dad went out and bought it for us that week, best moment of my life was receiving my first console.

i am a 90's kid, and MY first console was the original Xbox, but dad had one of the older consoles and my cousin had a Nintendo 64, so grew up with them as well,
may have to look into this...

my first console was the NES. still have it packed up in its original box. cannot recall how many times i beat SMB3.

All the younger kids on here are probably reading this and thinking: "How many people did it have online?"

As an old git, I remember having a life before video games. I also remember when the only time you could play "state of the art" games was at an arcade, when my well-to-do friend had an early console ($1000 and all it played was "Pong"), then spending many allnighters playing "Missile Command". My wife and I used to lay lots of Mario Bros and "F1: Built To Win" (she was really good at that one, TORA A Lobby good)

Then a buddy owed my some money, and left a Sega Saturn and probably every game ever made for it... then my brother got my kid a PS2 and GT3 for Christmas and my life was never quite the same.

Moral of the story: Kids, don't do "Pong" as its a gateway drug.

The ,,addiction" 4 me really kicked of with this 1.


And indeed later on with Atari 2600, Missile command and so on (all xboxlive arcade downloads, if u still can't get enough)

I have all these consoles, even an Atari 3600. Missing an Intellivision box though..

My console life started with this



Had Donkey Kong & Pole position
Hell it even had a wheel and single pedal

I had some random Atari thing as my first console. Had a wierd superman game I could never work out and a skiing game that was really rather odd too.
Then I progressed to SNES and MegaDrive and 32x (anyone else remember the awesome Knuckles and Chaotix?) Then cracked on with PlayStation for a couple of generations. Didn't come to Xbox until very late in its lifespan. Got 360 from launch and stuck with thst ever since.
Mage of mine used to have an original space invaders arcade unit at home. Must be worth a fortune now.
