Is it time for a North American affiliate to TORA ?
Please give your opinions as to whether there would be a possibility of having an affiliate North American version of TORA. Not a breakaway group but something more time friendly to those west of the Atlantic Ocean.

Re: Is it time for a North American affiliate to TORA ?
I am unsure, as both TORA and Forza in general are bigger on the other side of the Pond. And I know that any such undertaking would require lots of work, and us Americans are a bit lazy.
Re: Is it time for a North American affiliate to TORA ?
I've contemplated doing more NA timed TORA series, but have never seen the numbers to make it worthwhile.
Re: Is it time for a North American affiliate to TORA ?
I'm thinking about looking for a host for a US Based Fun Cup, as 9pm BST on a Monday is a bit excluding for those of you the wrong side of that pond

Re: Is it time for a North American affiliate to TORA ?
I thinks it's actually bigger here west. But not by a organized community sense. Turn 10 is based out of the Northwest US I think.
But I like your thinking Dewey, however I think TORA should hire up some more Staff members from this side of the pond. As of right now its Mark n Louis. Both very busy guys in their own right.
And also XPR will be producing some new series over at XPLR to fill in time slots for us and on the off days from TORAs series. So no more of this overlapping of great series

XPR has been hosting a Bonanza night on Fridays since we started the club back in January, but we have slacked on it recently lolMichaelJGroves wrote:I'm thinking about looking for a host for a US Based Fun Cup, as 9pm BST on a Monday is a bit excluding for those of you the wrong side of that pond

Re: Is it time for a North American affiliate to TORA ?
I think TORA was doing alright before. It's only a problem now because the NATCC hasn't returned yet. And it'll be run as a community series anyway. Mikey and Dewey should be admins.

Re: Is it time for a North American affiliate to TORA ?
If I were able to, I'd run the series w/o hesitation.... that being said, I am talking with Bruno about taking it on with Dewey and Hurricane.

Re: Is it time for a North American affiliate to TORA ?
I think that they would prefer Stewards/Marshalls running things. Then again, Cain is a Marshall too, so he could play a role in running this.
BTW, I have full confidence that the NATCC will happen, albeit as a "Community Series"... but the fact that there will be a NATCC is the main objective.

Re: Is it time for a North American affiliate to TORA ?
NATCC will happen but it may call for members to sacrifice there own race and sit out at times to make sure the lobbys are hosted correctly .
Re: Is it time for a North American affiliate to TORA ?
i don't think there should be an 'individual section' as such but the concept yes, because if there are more NA timed races, it works for Aus as well, i know myself and Broom are very much the minority, but it works for us as well,
Re: Is it time for a North American affiliate to TORA ?
This is ludicrous in my opinion, TORA is most probably the best forza racing league at this moment in time. Just because there is some uncertainty surrounding NATCC doesn't mean that anything should change.

And to be fair to the staff, there wern't too many drivers in the NATCC if I recall, just because there is a lot going on in regards to the larger series such as TEC and ISCC, now a deal that will feature the TCC on Motor'sTV, I don't believe its fair to suddenly "Force" another admin into the group.
The site is founded and ran by those who have done a great job to get this far, I would change NOTHING in my opinion.
I do understand where you guys are coming from, but I personally have to dissagree, if the Staff want to promote someone to their ranks to help out, it's their decision, not ours.

Re: Is it time for a North American affiliate to TORA ?
Haydo and Warspite... I also believe TORA is the best racing out there. I'm not trying to be unfair to any of the staff they have all gone above and beyond in what they do, if not being overburdened by the vast amount of behind the scenes race preparations. I fully support TORA and the staff members. Is just seems like sometimes we are the forgotten few. Yes the first season of NATTC we only had 7 or 8 entrants, but it seems like last season we had a fully lobby plus a B lobby. This was before the large influx of new members. I'm not trying to ruffle any feathers just want to run NATTC simple as that. Week after week I usually come in last in whatever series I'm running in but I still come back. There isn't a better place to race and enjoy chewing the fat with racers from everywhere....... Long Live TORA!

Re: Is it time for a North American affiliate to TORA ?
I'm not trying to cause any conflictions mate you just asked for peoples opinions so I posted it I hope the NATCC does find a way of working out as the more people that get to race & appreciate the work everyone puts into creating these series the better but I think IF the staff thought there was a problem with the issue you are raising they would promote the required members to sort it

Re: Is it time for a North American affiliate to TORA ?
TORA has done a great job providing series that everyone could enjoy. The bottom line is, we all know how demanding it is on the staff. And there is only 2 staff members that are north american. So I think we are suggesting that we are to help, cuz we want to succeed like everyone else.
I disagree with leaving or saying TORA has not been there for us, cuz they have. Its just a crazy time right now lol

Re: Is it time for a North American affiliate to TORA ?
There is a lot going on in the background to not only uphold each series, but to run the forums and promote the site, and I can assure everyone the NATCC is being discussed, just please be patient.

Re: Is it time for a North American affiliate to TORA ?
You can't just willy nilly promote people to do things on an official basis. A lot of those people turn out to be problems and I know TORA has had their fair share and it actually led to the site becoming what it is today. If someone wanted to do it as a community event then so be it but maybe having two lobbies isn't enough to justify making someone stay up all night or to do even more work.
I live in the US and wouldn't mind seeing a US time zone oriented series or even site but there isn't the support behind it. Also, you have to take into account that the US alone covers 3 hours worth of time zones while there is only 5 between EST and GMT. You would need to do something for the west and east and would still lose people as it'd still run at 10-11pm EST. The same problem exists within our own country (sorry Canada you don't count...hehe).
Logistics and demand just don't fit. If the guys see fit or think it's good enough to do I'm sure they will do it. They want to include everyone and I'm sure it pains them as much as it does some of you to not be able to give it to you.

It's no worry man. You have an opinion and a right to share it, sometimes it helps to hear both sides. Don't worry about it Dewey!DeweyTee wrote:Sorry I said anything:(
