Promo video for CQR’s TCC Season 8 drivers and teams:
Here’s a detailed look at our teams and drivers for TCC Season 8:
CQR Fusion (2010 Seat Leon)
#1 – Ashley Sutton (CQR Champion)
#707 – Mark Guest (CQR MAGiC)
#277 – Ryan Beale (CQR Type R)
Season 7 drivers champion Ashley Sutton (CQR Champion) returns to defend his title, moving from the Megane to CQR Fusion’s 2010 Seat Leon. Testing has shown the car to have great potential, and Champion will be looking to take the double. He’ll have to fend off Season 6 TCC champion Mark Guest (CQR MAGiC), who returns from a part-season entry last year and is looking to retake the title himself after several seasons fighting for the title in TORA GT. They’re joined by another formidable team mate, Ryan Beale (CQR Type R) who finished 3rd in season 6 and is a very experienced tuner and racer who knows how to win. All three drivers could be in contention for the title, which could make for a fascinating championship showdown.
CQR IKEA (2007 Honda Civic)
#118 – Andy Patterson (CQR HABURi)
#3 – Martin Johnson (CQR Jono)
#122 - Joe Newman (CQR Vapor)
Season 6 Team’s Champions CQR IKEA return for Season 8, with a new car, the 2007 Honda Civic Type-R, but a familiar livery with the iconic yellow and blue last seen on the Kia c’eed. Season 6 runner-up Andy Patterson (CQR HABURi) heads up the team and will be a strong contender for race victories. He’s joined by last season’s 3rd place driver and all-round touring car endurance specialist Martin Johnson (CQR Jono), winner of last season’s Britcar 24 Hours Clubman class and Nurburgring 8 Hours SP3 class. Season 7 race winner CQR Vapor joins the team as the 3rd driver.
CQR Prodrive (2010 Seat Leon)
#140 – Chris Peake (CQR CHRiS)
#123 – Phil Peake (CQR PHIL)
#80 – Chris Siddall (CQR Aero)
Season 7’s third placed team CQR Prodrive returns for Season 8, this time in the 2010 Seat Leon, a car which lead driver Chris Peake (CQR CHRiS) has always enjoyed driving. Together with younger brother Phil Peake (CQR PHIL) and TORA veteran Chris Siddall (CQR Aero), the CQR Prodrive team will be looking for strong A lobby finishes, with the support of sister team CQR Fusion who are also in the Seat Leon.
CQR John Deere (Renault Megane RS 250)
#255 – Alex Hall (CQR NEON)
#971 – Steven Butler (CQR Stevie)
#772 – Nigel Bishop (CQR Basher)
CQR John Deere moves over to the TCC for the first time, following several successful campaigns in Virtual Motorsports Classics series. Team leader Alex Hall (CQR NEON) makes his debut in the TCC; his extensive touring car knowledge will be a huge asset to the team. He’s joined by Steven Butler (CQR Stevie) and Nigel Bishop (CQR Basher), their wealth of experience and consistent points scoring finishes will surely see CQR John Deere score well in the championship.
CQR Logitech (Renault Megane RS 250)
#145 – Bailey Barry (CQR TacticaL)
#151 – Stephen Grainger (CQR Juicy)
#979 – Richard Carnwell (CQR Smokey)
CQR’s second Renault Megane team has an exciting driver line-up, with CQR’s newest drivers Bailey Barry (CQR TacticaL) and Stephen Grainger (CQR Juicy), who will be looking to add their names to the club’s long list of winners. They’re pace has been impressive in testing and they’re both excellent FWD tuners and racers, and will be right up there in the A lobby. They’re joined by the experienced Richard Carnwell (CQR Smokey), a regular A lobby runner last season who’s renowned for excellent racing skill and speed.
CQR Berty will also be entering a privateer Renault Megane under the CQR2d brand.
Good luck to everyone taking part in TORA TCC Season 8!
