Correct, and in this economical climate these companies have to do what they can to make money. Making money is done via DLC these days and Online will be a big focus of this next generation.

It still doesn't change the fact that a large amount of people buying FM5 on XB1 will be long terms fans and the games core audience. FM5 is the only racer to be released at launch now, and most launch games are never going to be remembered for long. It's a funny launch this time though, as the PS3 and X360 did not have the established FPS games like BF4 and CoD to go into another generation with, nor any action adventure games like AC4 and of course sports games like FIFA or Madden.

I am disappointed, but I am not surprised.

However I am also really looking forward to a championship based on Track Day cars such as the KTM, Ariel and so on. The Lotus F1 car is an awesome machine, and I am sure we will have some fun in Production GT again Wink

Noooooo, there's enough GT cars for a proper GT series, they're much better than the production based ones.

Just saw this on FB

MORE BAD NEWS - Suzuka and Infineon Raceway are absent for Forza Motorsport 5, just like the Nürburgring, confirmed by Dan Greenawalt in an article for Eurogamer. We head toward a disaster.
Going to look for this article.

Found it, son of a...

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013-11-06-why-forza-motorsport-5-has-less-cars-and-tracks-than-forza-4

Xbox One launch title Forza Motorsport 5 is set to feature 14 tracks and 200 cars - almost halving the 26 circuits and 500 cars offered by its predecessor - as Turn 10 places an emphasis on quality over quantity for its next-gen debut.

Casualties include Suzuka, Infineon Raceway and, perhaps most notably, the Nurburgring and its famously torturous 12.93 mile long Nordschleife configuration. They're victim, Turn 10's creative director Dan Greenawalt told Eurogamer, to the level of detail required in Forza's next-gen vision.

There's hope that some of those missing tracks will make their way to Forza Motorsport 5 - indeed there's a rumour that the Nurburgring is shaping up for release early next year - but there's no commitment from Turn 10 just yet. "We're looking at what we're going to add as DLC. Obviously we're committed to cars - that's something we do very well. We're looking at tracks as well to see what we can do there."
So they removed the tracks that didn't meet the high detail and lighting standards? I can agree with that on the 'ring, but Infineon is their newest track from FM4 with a variety of levels of lighting and Suzuka was also changed to reflect the lighting changes in FM4. Right...

Shame about Suzuka, over the moon about Infinion, and Nurburgring will unfortunately be there in the new year. Seems like they're making my ideal racer, I'd better tell them I like Suzuka though.

Infineon is a fantastic track, one of the few tracks I enjoy racing around as it was new in FM4 and a bit different. Suzuka is a classic. Can't believe they removed it.

14 tracks is disgraceful, if I wasn't getting it free I wouldn't buy it.

No Suzuka, Infineon, Mugello, Maple, Sunset, Tsukuba, Hockenheim, Road America, Motegi, Nurburgring etc

Just awful.

This is all a little bit horror show in the reading.

Can I pose a question, where does everyone stand in regards their thoughts on exactly how suit suitable a platform FM5 is gonna actually make for us "hardcore racers"?

I think it maybe wise for all of us to start casting out eyes a little wider. Is there any chance that we should be looking at GT6, Project CARS etc and maybe look towards building more events on those platforms?

As you said, its about money at the end of the day, and I can't blame Turn10 for having to cater mainly for the wider market (the casual racer/just for fun), but all of us here are most defo in the "hardcore" sector, and as such maybe FM5 is not the best option for us anyone.....

There is no doubt FM5 will be good, but the negatives seem to be building up Crying or Very sad .

Am not saying I have the answer, but just felt I should pass the question out for thought.

it should all be FREE DLC.

They go 2 steps forward with Physics and Graphics, but then go 1 step back for each all the cars and tracks they are missing.

Do the math, and thats a lot of steps back

Its a great platform, but they give us nothing to do in it.

It's like giving somebody a track for their own private use....but then saying you can only use that grocery cart from Wal-Mart in the parking lot.

If all the tracks have been remodeled due to being on a new system with different architecture this is completely understandable. Certainly beats the track list from Forza 1, people are seriously over-reacting.

I played the game on Laguna Seca, and apart from the crowds and extras at the side of the track the actual track felt exactly the same as it has in previous games. I have put in a lot of laps of Laguna and know it well, and the track felt no different.

To cut their latest tracks they just made such as Infineon, Hockenheim and Nurb GP doesn't make sense.
