Re: Announcing the Motegi 360 – A new kind of Enduro
Same here. Been planning the race since the CT event, when people wer requesting the LeMons. Then I realized TASCAR ends, and XB1 come out with one Saturday in between, so back in September I jumped on that date.

Re: Announcing the Motegi 360 – A new kind of Enduro
Mikey,
I think you are over reacting now. The reason why the Motegi 360 is scheduled for 2nd November is that we have had to make it fit into the Virtual Motorsports schedule. This date was the best as we also wanted to do it before the launch of the new XBox and FM5.
Those are the only reasons why this date was chosen.

Yes mate, this one is very interresting..gen3ral ts0 wrote:this sounds pretty interesting. would be down to drive a GT500 or GT300 car.
Yesterday we had a good practice session, and from what I can say is that the cars are well balanced for this track...

Re: Announcing the Motegi 360 – A new kind of Enduro
I know that Mikey is quite stressed at the moment. After getting no response from TORA about running the Vintage Trans Am Series on Fridays 8pm he's not the happiest he's been. But having a date picked out for a while, all cars tested as well as it being proven that this even totally rocks, I can see his frustration at having his date taken.

I can fully understand that mate..Kilroy8 wrote:I know that Mikey is quite stressed at the moment. But what Balmier stated earlier, when it was decided by VM to do this event we didn't know that Mikey was working on his Le Mons event...
So it's not fair to accuse CRA of killing his event..
And it's also not correct to say those bad things about me and Adder.. We did nothing wrong here in my opinion..

Re: Announcing the Motegi 360 – A new kind of Enduro
Event Organiser: CRA
Event Support Team: CRA Morphader, BalmierPie671, CRA Adder, Riwaly
When: Saturday 2th 12:00 CST / 18:00 GMT / 04:00 AEST
This event will take place on Forza Motorsport 4 and will see you racing a large race at Twin Ring Motegi Full, consisting of three 30 Lap stints and one 31 Lap stint, in a configuration that has ABS & STM forced off but allows all other assists, has limited damage and collisions turned on. The race is scheduled for Saturday 2nd November. There is a limit of 48 teams for this event, so ensure to sign up between Wednesday 16th October and Friday 1st November. The race is scheduled for Saturday 2nd November.
EVENT STATUS
This is an external event run by both Virtual Motorsports and members of the CRA Club. It is an event run just for fun and has no bearing on the Virtual Motorsports 2013 Championship, which is reflected by the event settings, with SuperGT cars used in a limited damage environment. Members from the CRA Team wanted to come with something new.
THE CARS
The carlist will be posted after this one
PARTICIPANT LEVEL
There are only Teams supported within this event. A Team requires two drivers with all drivers featuring the same livery design. Both drivers scores will contribute to their teams points for the event. Car choice is open, but since this a team event both drivers has to use the same car with both names on, drivers within the team can decide wich VM number of 1 of the drivers they are going to use in the event. Teams are frozen when the Sign Up period has closed or when you finish you’re qualifying session.
Each driver has to drive 2 stints.
QUALIFYING
Qualifying will take place in the week before the event with a one hour session on Saturday the 26th of October and some 30 minute sessions for the drivers that can’t make the one hour session.
Qualifying rooms will open at 14:00 CST / 20:00 GMT / 06:00 AEST where all drivers will then receive an invite from their room host. If you do not receive an invite, please get in contact with the Event Organiser via Party Chat and he will resolve the situation. Qualifying itself will take place at 14:20 CST / 20:20 GMT / 06:20 AEST, where you will have 60 minutes to set your time, the best of which will then contribute to form the grid. Please space out on the opening lap to give each other room so you can all have clear, unimpeded certified qualifying laps. Once the 60 minutes are completed, finish the lap that you’re on, gather in the first corner and wait for the host to give direction. Any drivers that lag out or leave the session will have their best time used as displayed by the results screen, unless if a qualifying lap wasn't completed, upon which a new qualifying session can be started. No driver is to drive backwards around the track, as stated within the Racing Standards. Additional 30 minute qualifying sessions will be made available during the week prior to the race whereby any non-qualified driver can participate and make two attempts. If a driver only makes one attempt in the main qualifying session, they can also make their second attempt within one of the available 30 minute qualifying sessions if they wish.
CERTIFICATION
Each driver must have a certified lap achieved on their first lap. A slow cautionary lap must be carried out by every driver, staying on the track and away from the grass, curbs and walls. If your lap becomes uncertified, you will have to sacrifice another lap to achieve this very simple task, so go slow and be careful. All uncertified times will be placed behind certified times in order of fastest to slowest.
RACE
Race rooms will open around 11:30 CST / 17:30 GMT / 03:30 AEST. Please be patient as this process can take between 15 minutes to complete, but once finalised, all drivers will receive an invite from a selected room host. If you do not receive an invite within 20 minutes, please get in contact with the Series Organiser via Party Chat and he will resolve the situation. For stint 2, 3 and 4 you have to be online at least 20 minutes before the stints starts.
Stint 1 starts: 12:00 CST / 18:00 GMT / 04:00 AEST
Stint 2 starts: 13:30 CST / 19:30 GMT / 05:30 AEST
Stint 3 starts: 15:00 CST / 21:00 GMT / 07:00 AEST
Stint 4 starts: 16:30 CST / 22:30 GMT / 08:30 AEST
The Motegi 360 will consist of 4 stints, each consisting of 30 laps except stint 4, which is 31 laps. Stint 1 will have the grid set to Qualifying Result order, which will mean a short 1 lap race has to be completed to sort the order of the grid for a standing start. For stints 2, 3 and 4, the starting order will be the finishing order of the previous stints’ race of all the lobby’s together.
THIS MEANS THAT YOU CAN GO LOBBIES HIGHER OR LOWER DURING THE RACE
The order will be set by a short 1 lap race in these stints as well. All Race Starts will be a standing start with a one second roll of delay, if a driver lags out of their stint halfway through, they may rejoin the next stint from the back of the grid in the last room with a 15 minute penalty to the one who has the slowest winner of the stint total time. However, if you lag out in lap 23 or higher, than you will get a 2 minute penalty for each lap that you still have to run . For example, if the driver lags out in lap 27 of 30 he will get 6 minutes penalty on top of the time that he lagged out. The end race timer in each stint will be set on 10 minutes and if you can't make it within those 10 minutes you will get a 10 minute penalty to the winner of your lobby.
There is a mandatory pit stop for every stint, which is to be taken between Lap 1 and Lap 14. Whenever a driver enters or leaves the pits, they must call this out to the rest of the room. You must also keep 2 tires within the painted white lines denoting the edge of the track, to ensure no shortcutting. When exiting the pit lane, you must stay to the side until you have got up to racing speed. Do not feed onto the racing line because this is dangerous.
AFTER YOU FINISH YOUR STINT, YOU HAVE TO HIT YOUR XBOX BUTTON
The car becomes A.I. after the finish and is very aggressive in its driving. if you hit the xbox button it will go straight to the wall and after touching it, it becomes a ghost. It will be resetted on the track, but as a ghost so no danger to other drivers who are still driving. The hosts of the stints will give reminders to do this.
IF YOU DON'T HIT THE XBOX BUTTON AFTER YOU FINISHED, YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED AND OUT OF THE EVENT
RESTARTS
A restart can only occur if the following happens:
- The room has been setup incorrectly
- A driver lags out within the opening racing lap. In the event that 1 player only lags out, he will then start at the back of the grid. If more than one driver lags out simultaneously though, the grid will restart as the qualifying result intended
- Racing collision involving 4 or more cars within the opening racing lap
- Large lag related crash within the opening racing lap
STARTING GRIDS
Drivers should take both the 1 lap grid setting races seriously so as to ensure the race begins without delay.
THE PITS
Drivers are permitted to pit during the qualifying session if they so wish, but they are not required to. There is, however, a mandatory pit stop for every stint that must be made between Lap 1 and 14.
PIT ENTRY - When approaching the pit lane, please stay to the right and state your intentions to pit. Do not make sudden late movements as this will most likely cause an accident of which you will be at fault for, and navigate the pit entrance with care avoiding any corner cutting as intentional corner cutting is a penalisable offence.
PIT EXIT - When exiting the pit lane, please state your exit from the pit lane and stay to the right until you have picked up sufficient speed before rejoining the racing line. Do not make sudden movements as this will most likely cause an accident of which you will be at fault for.
OVERTAKING
Competitors must communicate with each other and make sensible choices when making overtakes. Always be sure that the pass is viable before committing and allow for racing room to ensure on-track safety. If however, you bump someone off the track when overtaking, you must wait for them to recover and regain their position immediately, even if it means other drivers get past too. Please note that crashing someone to get by not only means you lose that position gained, you also have the resulting time loss and any further position loss whilst you wait for the victim to recover, whilst also potentially receiving an additional penalty if an incident inquiry is filed. Is it worth it? Pick your overtaking manoeuvres carefully.
CONNECTIONS
Having a good connection will directly dictate how good your racing experience will be and so it is vital that it is the best it possibly can be. Many factors can affect the quality of the connection from bandwidths, signal strength and NAT settings.
If you cannot connect properly on race day, then it will not be delayed. Conflictions with other racers preventing access to rooms will need to be sorted by those in question, and those 1 or 2 racers will need to sort their problems or they will not be allowed to race. The person with the better qualifying will be allowed to race, as long as he does not conflict with others. If a confliction prevents two or more other drivers from participating, then that driver in question will not be allowed to race despite potentially have a better qualifying time. It is strongly recommended to get online 30 minutes before race time to work out any connection problems.
CONFLICTION DURING A RACE MEETING
If there is a confliction within your race room, you must find out who the confliction is with. The Room Host will invite all his drivers to the room in qualification order, with the driver who cannot get in then proceeding to get in contact with the Room Host. The host will create a new room and invite this driver first and wait for him to gain access before then inviting the remaining drivers in qualification order, waiting for each driver to connect before inviting the next. The process is repeated until the confliction is found, of which the driver with the better qualifying will be permitted to race, and the excluded driver forced to withdraw but will get the time of the last placed man in that particular lobby, unless if the driver with the better qualifying is preventing more than one driver from racing, in which case they will then be excluded instead. This process should not take longer than 5 minutes.
FINAL POINT
Virtual Motorsports events are catered for fun, clean, competitive racing and all skill levels are welcomed to participate but all we ask is that you are committed to the event. This means, if you sign up an event, you should complete it. If you are not committed, then Virtual Motorsports isn't for you. Please remember that communication is vital when participating. Even with cosmetic damage, chances cannot be taken that will risk other drivers. No-one's race should be ruined by someone else's mistake.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask

The exact same reasons why the date for the TCR LeMons race was chosen .BalmierPie671 wrote:Mikey,

May I remind you that I doubt I would be able to spam VM with LeMons due to the conflicting date... and the fact you guys have been able to do so here on TORA is part of my frustration.

May i remind you that you are able to promote a external event at VM

Again you seem to have no clue what you are talking about.

Re: Announcing the Motegi 360 – A new kind of Enduro
I know VM well as I have raced there quite a bit in the past. I also know that VM doesn' much care for advertising events that conflict with VM's races.
I was met with that sort of opposition when I started the TCR Friday Night Spec Series as it was "too close" in time to VM NASCAR even though my series was finished an hour before theirs and I was racing in both every week.

Re: Announcing the Motegi 360 – A new kind of Enduro
VM had no idea that Mikey was planning LeMons and Mikey had no idea about VM planning this. I'm sure both events will be great, it's just a shame these events have clashed. People will choose, as they wish which event to take part in. I can completely understand why Mikey is frustrated. There's no need for everyone to be getting annoyed at each other over something like this. It's just a bad coincidence both events have been planned for the same time.
