Laguna Seca Pit lane Exit
What is the rule about the Pit Lane Exit, because of the Forza sticky tarmac thingy on the end of the proper pit lane?

Re: Laguna Seca Pit lane Exit
Drive carefully is the word of the day (I suggest having a few practice goes)! The full exit is the correct route as used by TORA in previous races. Rejoining on the brow of the hill (as soon as you are able after regaining control of your car) is not permitted.
Re: Laguna Seca Pit lane Exit
Awesome, I know it's slippery but it makes for awesome chases down the home straight seeing if you can get round T1 before the car exiting pit road
Re: Laguna Seca Pit lane Exit
Thanks Chris for clarifying that for me and yes Newt it will, I really can't wait for this race

Re: Laguna Seca Pit lane Exit
Both pit exits have their flaws but I understand why the sticky exit is used. I still don't get why it's there in the first place though!

Re: Laguna Seca Pit lane Exit
Once you get close enough to the sticky at the end of pit road, you will slow down enough to make the hairpin no matter what speed you're going.
And it's there because the numnuts in the online lobbies are bound to cut through there to either gain an advantage or wreck everyone.

Re: Laguna Seca Pit lane Exit
This is kinda ridiculous, especially considering the fact that we didn't have to take the long exit for Silverstone.

I don't think their is an advantage to which pit you exit. I think the long one is for the GT cars and the short one is for LMP.The Bulin Wall5 wrote:This is kinda ridiculous, especially considering the fact that we didn't have to take the long exit for Silverstone.

Re: Laguna Seca Pit lane Exit
if i'm not mistaken, the 'longer' pit exit at Silverstone is actually for service vehicles, the shorter exit, the one with the guided line on the racing surface, is the normal one. As for Laguna, if everyone follows the pictures posted above, and uses the officially designated pit exit, everyone will have to go though the 'sticky pavement', so there shouldn't be a disadvantage here.

Re: Laguna Seca Pit lane Exit
Has anyone got the feeling that if someone's car is off whack for Laguna, the chances of them spinning in the pits are likely? Sticky tarmac and slidey exit, there might be a crash if one's car was to snap on them and spin them out into the track. Just a thought.
Re: Laguna Seca Pit lane Exit
there were no incidents last year when this event came around, when we brought this up. everyone followed the official pit exit, which mind you has the sticky tarmac/pavement, but it still has a bit of room after the apex where there isnt sticky stuff before the exit of the pit lane.

Re: Laguna Seca Pit lane Exit
All should be fine then. But just be careful to be prepared for the un expected should it happen (Shouldn't happen but best be careful just in case)
Re: Laguna Seca Pit lane Exit
At least this way, when you rejoin the track, there is a smaller speed differential than if you were to allow cars to rejoin on the straight just over the brow of the hill.
This is safer for all involved imo.

Re: Laguna Seca Pit lane Exit
We chose to keep to the long pit lane exit as it was far safer and more reliable than just pulling into the first corner.
What you forget is the pit exit wall is on the crest of the hill, overtaking LMP or GTE cars will be doing peak speeds and can't slow down to avoid if the driver who has just pitted comes across to soon, also what if a LMP car is overtaking a GTE car in the moment? it only took 12 minutes for any LMP1/LMPC to come back round to lap.
