So what would your proposed driver line-up for the USF1 team be? I would go with Sebastian Bourdais and Juan Pablo Montoya. Though neither of them are American, both have f1 experience and have big fan bases here.

Also, any speculations on the chassis/engine supplier? I'm thinking Panoz/Cosworth.

I wouldn't mind having Danica Patrick to bring in money/publicity to the team and make F1 more relevant in the United States while a more qualified driver goes for the overall finishes.

Yeah she would only be there purely for the marketing, but it doesn't help the fact that there is no N.American GPs this season, stupid Bernie Mad

I think Alexander Rossi will be a pretty good F1 driver after a couple of seasons in GP2.

I agree Danica Patrick. She won a race last year. Yeah, it'd be a publicity move, but why not? It really puts USF1 on the map in terms of global marketing, having the first female F1 driver, and opens the sport up in a way that could attract potential sponsors who may not have even considered F1 otherwise.

Although I don't think F1 is ready for a Tampax sponsored F1 car just yet... Smile

ckBrenneke wrote:having the first female F1 driver,

Theres been more than one other female driver in the past im sure, back in the days of pre-qualifying. I think theres been one occasion where this driver qualified for the race, cant remember her name off the top of my head.

Its funny how nobody has mentioned Marco Andretti, seems like a very tallented road course driver. Ryan Hunter Ray would be a good option too, won at Wantkins Glen last year in the IRL in what some might say is a midfield car. What about Richard Antinucci? He did the British F3 quite a few years back (and did it damn well) in 2002 and 2003 IIRC, he is now doing the Indy Lights.

Danica Patrick - will bring money to usf1 but I dont think she will be any good, she barley makes a good impresion around the race and street circuts in irl and only makes a good impresion around the ovals, which face it aint that hard to spa!!!!

And thank god we dont get the american feed for f1 as all u would here all race is were danica, omg she moved off the grid!

Sabine Schmitt is prob the best woman driver, and she wuld easly beat a number of drivers around the nurburing ring, love 2 see her in f1 but she gt at her heart.

Wonder why no 1 is speculating on either justin wilson or Dario Franchitti wuld be a better choice.

wat about dario franchitti? hes got a worldwide fan base altho not the biggest. i also think his cuz Paul Di Resta should be looked at. i cant see Marco Andretti or any other american drivers taking the seat. f1 is still europen in my view.

actully the more i think about it the more it makes sense it is to take franchitti on. yes maybe hes a bit older but he did mange a gr8 3rd place at the glen in nascar nationwide and hes str8 bk on the pace in the indycars.

also the fact there looking for a engine could see a car manufacter yound diver of choice driver in the car.

hmm, firstly, Dario Franchitti lives in Nashville and is a USA resident, he has settled there very nicely, and i doubt he would want to travel round the world for half the year, seeing as he has probably reached his peak already.

And, secondly... why shouldnt an American driver have a go at F1, Marco Andretti does A1GP at the moment, and theres plenty of talent in the Indy Lights.

Lets apply the same logic to GP2/F1:

If theres good drivers in GP2, why arnt they flooding into F1?

Its all about budget and experience, you dont just get drives with the big boys for nothing.

kyle busch was supposedly going to do some testing for toyota, but who knows if that's still going to happen.

please no danica...anyone but her (and it's not because she's a woman, it's because of her attitude towards everyone else on the grid)

put scott speed back in there as he's the only one with modern F1 experience...
