Re: 2014 FIA Formula 1 World Championship
somebody just pointed out to me that the F14T name for the Ferrari chassis looks a lot like FIAT in text slang LOL
Re: 2014 FIA Formula 1 World Championship
Dreadful teaser from Lotus, using the 2012 nose. Convenient burn cans & sure deodorant cans falling. Bad.

Re: 2014 FIA Formula 1 World Championship
Back to testing in Bahrain, it's looking like Renault is still having major problems.
Quoted from autosport forums
Craig Scarborough has reported new information on this Renault problem on the Pit Stop Radio Show podcast on Monday evening. One can download the show here, also.
@ minute 14:17, after discussing the ES problem briefly, Craig then says the big problem is in the ERS-K system. He said the ERS-K was apparently bringing its power in too quickly back to the ICE mainshaft, causing failure in the ERS-K, and the crankcase itself. He said there is a fundamental problem with the shaft of the ERS-K. Consequently, they now have a big redesign.
"For the rest of testing, they're going to have to without full ERS power... There is also some debate as to whether this part will be ready for Melbourne as well. So potentially for some of the first races the Renault engines could be handicapped because of this problem with this motor generator."
That is the fourth person to report some information on this same problem... First the Judge from the Jerez paddock reported it directly, then Rob White of Renault Sport F1 alluded to this in his interview of Jan 31st, Gian Carlo Minardi's own article of Feb 13th had an obtuse reference to this, and now this Scarborough podcast interview describes it more directly.

Re: 2014 FIA Formula 1 World Championship
So two F1 things have happened today:
Firstly the "Strategy Group" have voted against a Double Point-ing the final three rounds, it is now just the final round that will be Double Points.
The Formula One Teams Association have disbanded, the group that was founded amid concerns of the heavily touted "Cost Capping" formula being introduced for the 2010 season, by the FIA President at the time Max Mosely. A formula that would bring in the likes of Lotus (now Caterham), Manor (which became Virgin, which became Marussia), and Campos Meta (which became Hispania, Which Became HRT, which became Hilarious). FOTA not only managed to stop this formula from happening, which meant the new teams that still exist in F1 still remain at the back of the pack, but were also responsible for the almost strike that would happen at the British Grand Prix in 2009. A moment F1Rejects.com heralded as the "Reject Of the Race" an award normally given to the biggest failiure of the race on the track.

Nice, still not the best looking thing on the grid, but a lot better than the old design IMO.

he has one, its still on the top of his helmet from where Fernando used to press his thumb down
Re: 2014 FIA Formula 1 World Championship
I've seen better looking renders but the final result is also nice.
Shame they didn't put the Martini logo on the side-pod.

It always has! Definitely one of my favourites. None of this tribal shyte. Reminds me a bit of Alex Zanardi's lid.

I don't know whether this is just for Australia, or the whole season. Looks smart though.

Re: 2014 FIA Formula 1 World Championship
Hamilton looked good today, didn't have the running and was still quick.. Bit gutted the RedBull is so fast too! Was hoping other teams would get a chance..
Hope Sebastien doesn't win as I told the missus I won't watch any F1 if he wins the first race!!
