The Poor Man's Dakar: The Mongol Rally

Been slightly obsessing over this all weekend. It's definitely caught my attention and sparked my imagination a bit. 10,000 odd miles in a 1.0L car from Goodwood in England to Ulaanbaatar in Mongolia. Entry fees are low, it's all for charity, and the sh*tter the car, the better. I'm really considering committing to doing this for '15 or '16.

Looks like a lot of fun! I'm currently training as a mechanic so this would be awesome for me in the future.

Awww yess!!! I'm up for this next year My car is rally homologated, so that's a definite win in the bag.... Right?

The fun of it is having a totally inadequate car.

It's not really a race either, you pick your own route. Great chance to explore europe and get wasted before you hit the middle east!

But it is totally inadequate... 1.3, FWD and no power steering, I'd eat my hat if it got through the desert
