Official TORA Forza Motorsport 5 General Series Discussion Thread
Hey guys,
This thread is being created to allow everyone who is involved or just races on FM5 to discuss what potential series they may like to see take place here at TORA.
Our GT Season 11 Series was our first attempt at an FM5 series, and as such it was indeed a little rushed so that we could get something going ASAP for everyone here to enjoy. This was a faux pas on our part, as we missed a few glaring errors that created an unbalance in our cars. This in turn split the opinions of our members and we are still recovering from the errors we made. The series was cut short and we finished it up.
We are now working on our next FM5 series that features more that one make of car, as there is only so much fun that can be had in a Spec Cup.
TORA will always have a GT and TCC series, and ideally a ISCC series but that is very much game dependent on choice of cars available. We tried GT and it didn't work. Currently we are working on a new GT format but it is taking longer than we anticipated to get right.
We would love TCC to return, and we began working on prototype rules and build regs before the issues we experienced during GT S11. As such, the prototype fell by the way side and we have had to start again.
In the end we would love to meet the demand of getting FM5 series out the gate and up and running. However, as has become apparent we are lacking in willing participants to run and organise such series. I am as guilty of this as anyone else on 'staff' as I simply do not have the time at the moment to dedicate to running a TORA series, let alone even visiting the site as often as I'd like. This is why there is still an active FM4 community here at TORA. Many people who have used the Forza series for the past however many years still have a 360 and still play FM4. This group of dedicated players has the numbers and the willing participants to run another GT series, another TCC series and another ISCC series all the while we are still limited on FM5 to Spec Series. That unfortunately is just they way things are at the moment, and whilst I know the guys are working hard to get FM5 series out there it is just taking longer than we - and you guys - would like it to.
Ok, so that was a bit of a long winded intro. Feel free to discuss ideas, opinions, possible rules, game exploits, things to watch out for and track that provide good racing in this thread. We are a community after-all that has lasted 7 years, I'm sure we can come up with some bright ideas

Re: Official TORA Forza Motorsport 5 General Series Discussion Thread
I think V8 Supercars would be awesome. I've not played in a while but I'm sure that the 2013 CotF Holden, Older Holden and Falcon could be balanced to make a really good championship. Cars are fast, produce racing as good if not better than other touring cars and of course THE SOUND! Races should be long enough too. Not sprints. One race for each round at roughly 35-45 mins long.
Maybe a 8 week series with 2 drop rounds. Schedule could look like:
Round 1: Laguna Seca
Round 2: Road America
Round 3: Indianapolis GP
Round 4: Le Mans Bugatti
Round 5: Bathurst (1 hour race to mimic 1000)
Round 6: Long Beach GP
Round 7: Spa Franchorchamps
Round 8: Nurburgring Behemoth (4 laps)
Just a suggestion to work with.

Re: Official TORA Forza Motorsport 5 General Series Discussion Thread
First of all, thanks for starting the thread Richy and also for being so honest.
Now, I'd personally like to see this thread used to ensure that the most important elements are in place before we get carried away with detailing hundreds of potential series that people would like to see. GT Season 11 failed due to a lack of organisation and leadership - any new series will go the same way, no matter how well the cars are balanced, if a dedicated team is not available every week.
And before any of the minions roll out the normal response to that comment........I'd love to help out, in fact I've held positions within this community before, but I do not have the time to do so now - I barely find time to compete

This. And more of this. The F1 car is good, but you can't really race hard & wheel to wheel in them the same way you can with the cars above. Although with that being said, I have entered an Indy Lights Championship at TVRF: http://tvrf.forumotion.co.uk/f19-friday-night-indy-lights

On the basis that the Brabham is much faster than the Lotus Type 49. How about having a series which features the 1939 Maserati, and the 1939 Audi.

Re: Official TORA Forza Motorsport 5 General Series Discussion Thread
Hi everybody
I was thinking the new spec cup 3 series could feature the 2010 Audi tt rs
And the tracks could be
Catalunya GP
Bugatti circuit
Spa
Nurburg GP
Silverstone GP
I am new to TORA so I am not sure about the laps and time of the races
I look forward to racing in the next specc cup
