HALO: The Master Chief Collection
Title says it all. Halo CE, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo 4 all remastered to 1080p at 60 frames per second. You also get access to a new series Halo Nightfall and Halo 5: Guardians Multiplayer Beta! I've seen it on pre-order for €70 and for that I have to say it looks like it's really worth it. I've only played Halo CE, Reach and 4 but I'd still get this to play it all again looking brand new. Anyone else interested in this?
Extracted from Wikipedia:
"The collection consists of Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2, Halo 3 and Halo 4, (with Halo 2 receiving the Anniversary treatment) replete with their full catalog of extras, including all multiplayer maps and gameplay modes.[1][a] All four games have received frame-rate (60 frames per second), resolution (1080p), and lighting upgrades. Combat Evolved Anniversary is based on the high-resolution remaster of the original released in 2011 for the Xbox 360. Halo 2 is receiving a similar graphical overhaul treatment and is thought to be the core of the collection. Halo 3 and Halo 4, already in high-definition, receive only standard upgrades.[2] The compilation features new achievements, and all difficulty and play modes are unlocked from the start.[1] There have been no story or gameplay changes from the original releases.[2]
As in Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2 players can swap between the original and upgraded graphics on-the-fly. Its cutscenes were also updated.[1] Since only six of the game's multiplayer maps were remastered, there are two Halo 2 multiplayer modes. Halo 2 Anniversary multiplayer uses the six remastered maps, while a standard Halo 2 multiplayer includes all of the game's released maps with a full graphical update but no remastering.[2] The Collection multiplayer includes Mission Setlists, curated lists of levels selected from throughout the series.[1]
The Extras menu includes access to Halo Nightfall and the Halo 5: Guardians multiplayer beta.[3] Nightfall is a series of weekly, episodic digital videos directed by Sergio Mimica-Gezzen and produced by Ridley Scott designed to lead up to the release of the Halo 5 beta and connect the series to the upcoming game,[1] and the Halo 5 beta runs from December 27, 2014, to January 22, 2015.[3] The release also includes new prologue and epilogue cutscenes to link the series for Halo 5's debut"
Re: HALO: The Master Chief Collection
I'm really looking forward to this, The biggest draw for me is that the Halo 2 multiplayer will be running on it's original engine. Had so much fun on that game.
It was before the days of xbox live parties and thus a lot easier to meet new friends etc.
Bring on the Halo's!!!

That takes me right back,
I was living with my ex girlfriend a long way from home and going out of my mind.
Recently I had traded my dreamcast with a hundred or so games for an xbox.
I didnt know much about the xbox, The one I got had a 120gb hdd installed and was filled with games which I would just play at random. With the relationship up the wall and constant arguing going on I couldn't get into any games.
Then I loaded Halo CE, Hmm running around in a spaceship shooting squeaky aliens with a constant beeb beeb beeb of the ship alarms going was quickly becoming a meh kind of game.
The I found that escape pod and the world turned inside out.
Suddenly I was on this planet, It was HUGE, and beautiful, You could see it stretching up into the sk.. Huh? This isn't a planet, Its a ring!!!
From that moment on I was hooked. The game felt mammoth and the story was amazing.
No quick kills, It all took effort and cover, Constantly looking for ammo was a staple of my next few months as I sought to explore every inch of this game.
I was gutted when It ended, But also amazed at this freaking awesome game full of crazy lore and enemies to fight.
Been hooked on halo campaigns since that day, Cannot wait to play them all again with these new stunning graphics we get to go with it.
Happy days
Re: HALO: The Master Chief Collection
I probably haven't had quite the experience you've had though. When I was about 5 I played CE in my cousins as he was showing me how terrifying the Flood were. Forgot ALL about the game until I started watching Red Vs. Blue by Rooster Teeth. Then I said I had to get some kind of Halo so I went back and got Halo Reach when I was about 10. Loved everything about it. My friends thought it was pretty weird that I played it instead of COD. Then moved onto CE: Anniversary and then Halo 4.
Though I missed out on 2 and 3, I really want this now. I might try and attempt to Master all of them with Achievements. (At least for CE). Cannot wait, 343 Guilty Spark is by FAR the coolest AI other than Cortana in all of Gaming!

Re: HALO: The Master Chief Collection
I'm going to have to wait until the 27th to play even though I've got it pre-ordered. My fibre optic doesn't get installed until then and with my current connection it'll take nearly 20 hours to download the day one 20gb update

Re: HALO: The Master Chief Collection
Halo... Oh how downhill it has gone.
Yes, unfortunately 343i have been killing the Halo franchise since 2011 when they took over from Bungie. Halo 4 was the worst excuse for a game I ever saw, remaking the first game for the 3rd time and now pushing out betas for Halo 5 which is probably going to be as good as a plasticine potato.
I also know that since Martin O'Donnell hasn't been there, the music has been going downhill. In fact, in my honest opinion, the ONLY reason I'd get the game is Halo 2 Anniversary SOLELY for the multiplayer. Why do I say this? Well, Halo 2 has and always will have the best Halo multiplayer. I have the original copy and I love it... I don't say this because I'm biased but I have played Halo at eSport level for just under a year now. Let's leave it at the fact that unless 343i pull something out of their tiny brains that isn't a blockbuster movie (Which was pretty good) then MAYBE it could redeem itself. Until then, uh-uh, I don't think so, bro.
