Re: TCR V8SC 6H of Laguna Seca General Discussion
Proposed Qualifying procedure:
One session, with one member of each team taking a single flying lap, as they do in the real Australian V8 Supercars Championship's Superlap Pole Qualifying.
This session would likely be held at 8PM GMT the Friday before race day.
Thoughts?

Re: TCR V8SC 6H of Laguna Seca General Discussion
I would think standard rules apply to paints. No tobacco sponsors.
Super Pole qualifying is just one part of the format used in V8s. 20 min sessions everyone on track is used for Sundays.
im good with either format.
Can we have a session on Thursday for anyone who maybe cant make a Friday?.. err me. lol

Re: TCR V8SC 6H of Laguna Seca General Discussion
I could be persuaded into a drive or into the comms box for some streaming.
If qually is on the Friday at 8PM I should be able to stream that as a minimum.
I'm meant to be working Saturday but I'll see if I can get it covered because this does look like fun.

Cowboy, I like the idea of you streaming quallies, but would much rather see you on track come race day. I know of a couple cars for you to choose from if you get to race.

Yes, you may paint your car to look like a Cadillac. I just hope that you'd stay inside GM corporate lines and not paint a Ford to look like a Cadillac
And there was a contingent within the team that wanted the cars locked stock to limit any advantages of the better tuners. The issue with that is that the cars are rather evil in stock form, and the handling upgrades take the edge off, but leaving the stock trans limits time spent tuning and the advantage that would come with it. I hope that explains things.
BTW, about tuning... in the interest of close competition and fair play: what's the chances that the "fast guys" can post up their tunes on the FM4 Storefront? In the past when this has been done, it seems to shrink the gap between haves and have-nots.
Re: TCR V8SC 6H of Laguna Seca General Discussion
this sound fun, I'll try and get me team mates at MVG to join in on this event.

Re: TCR V8SC 6H of Laguna Seca General Discussion
As is the case in the weekly TCR events I host, I'm not too worried about the number of entries as much as the event being fun and competitive. If its anything like Touring Masters, it could go down as a classic.

Re: TCR V8SC 6H of Laguna Seca General Discussion
The plan is for a Superlap Qualifying session on Friday, Nov 26 at 12N PST/3PM EST/8PM GMT.
But, there is room for a second session of the same format to be run at another time if demand warrants it.

Re: TCR V8SC 6H of Laguna Seca General Discussion
I'm not great at tuning these things, but they're fun to drive, so I'll get something together, run some laps, and perhaps start a thread with an open source tune so I don't have to make one for each car or something of that nature.

Re: TCR V8SC 6H of Laguna Seca General Discussion
Bw!!! Ive had alot of time in high HP four door beasts... so i have a stable fast tune i will put up though Im slow my tune is good
Re: TCR V8SC 6H of Laguna Seca General Discussion
Downforce doesn't seem to matter here. It gets you about the same laps no matter where you put it. I've run a 1:25.7 with both no aero and full aero. I'll post what I've got later today after work.
