Lets Meet The Team
Team: Across The Pond
Web: Facebook acrossthepondxbox
Founders: ATP Ginge - ATP Jeep - ATP Flying Ace
Current CEO: ATP Ginge
We have been together as a group since May 2013, although a few of the team were together in MGR previous to that. The lessons of that team split were learnt and still practiced to this day. A vast amount of experience in the running of series from all different areas, CEO's, Stewards, Lobby Hosts, Painters, Builders, but with families, work and general life outside the window taking priority, we are now restricted to racing as and when we can.
There is one night in which the vast majority of the team get together, and in 2015 we decided to run a weekly racing league, as being a bunch of middle aged men, we dont really do fast very well, and so the Saturday Night Drive was born. Its a wide array of short series and one off events, ranging in the mid to lower classes on the Xbox One, full details can be found at WRM Online which is run by Wheelwash Racing Media, or basically Moo has usually got a computer attached to his person so looks after the site.
As a team we are a bit different to others, we dont get the time to work with each other online very often, so everything is sorted via pm's and shouts on the forum, but everyone chips in when and as they can and it seems to work well for us. We believe in the whole package, when it comes to racing, we tend to make an effort in all departments, its never about the winning, it doesnt happen that often, but we do love a rivalry amongst the team, and bragging rights is always good.
We dont really have a recruitment policy as such, we are fairly strict though on new applications, they usually need to be like minded to us and with only one departure from the team since we started, we must work well for those that have joined us. The initial opening of communication is on the Facebook acrossthepondxbox forum these days, as we have a big ATP Only section where the magic happens
We are all based on the next generation now, a few of us still have access to the Xbox 360, but prefer to stick to the racing on Forza Motorsports 5, as we actually think its a great game and the racing is certainly enjoyable to us, of course, we are hoping that Project CARS and Forza Motorsports 6 will take another step forward, 2015 certainly looks to have the potential for a good year of recovery.
Thats all about us, we look forward to meeting you on track this year and if not, you will probably read about our Adventures Of Across The Pond, the weekly look into the team and their racing activities through the eyes of a heavily medicated Moo.
