PC Gaming Empty PC Gaming

Post by ART Carrera Sun 29 Mar 2009 - 17:17

So, does anyone here like pc gaming? If you do, heres the thread to post all stuff about, from new of upcoming games, or your own videos, or just anything about pc gaming. I would love to play games on the comp, but my comp is a piece of ****, so if I would play a game on it, it would literally explode lol. So to start off this thread, have you guys seen the crazy stuff people have modded in Fallout 3? Heres the link to a website of Fallout 3 modding. http://www.fallout3nexus.com/

So please add on to this thread. thanks Very Happy

I play some stuff on the pc, but it generally consists of playing RTS games since you can't get a good one on the consoles. I dunno what everyone goes on about saying that FPS games are better on the PC. Unless you have a stupidly powerful PC that runs at like 60fps with the setting turned up to high then I would rather just play the same game on a console. Oh, and my xbox didn't cost me £3000 Razz

I do have a pretty top notch PC just now, but as I said I only play RTS games on it...and Freelancer Razz

I'm really not into RTS games, not my can of Coke ( American version of " Not my cup of tea" lol). I've heard that FPS are really fun on the comp. If I had a good comp, I'd probably play RPG's, FPS, and racing games. Probably a little more RPG since there are tons of FPS on consoles, but I still love my FPS lol. So come on guys, bring this thread to life! Very Happy

Post by ckBrenneke Sun 29 Mar 2009 - 20:11

Used to be very much into PC gaming. But I got fed up with the hassle of it, and having less time through work and relationships, I gradually downgraded from a very PC-dedicated gaming set-up to my Xbox and a laptop.

Currently got a Sony Vaio 17" VGN-AR51J, which does all I can be bothered to do with PC's any more. Which is browse the net, play music and videos, and word-processing.

I do have some games installed though, which I play on a rare occasion. Just now, I have ToCA Race Driver 3, rFactor and a bunch of addons, and Metal Gear Solid installed, as well as a few games through steam like counterstrike source and half-life source.

But the one game I play more than anything on my laptop is Megamek. It is a java version of the BattleTech board game, which I played and collected for years. Not having the time or motivation to play the board game any more, Megamek gives me the fix I need.

I used to be massive into PC gaming about 10 years ago but I gradually lost interest in it and got fed up of spending lots of money on upgrading every 6 months so I gave up gaming all together!

Only last 2 years got back into gaming with the Xbox after playing on a mates.

I doubt I'll go back to PC gaming.

While I built my PC for most games, I don't seem to play as much PC games as I use too. However I will be getting some new PC games in the near future, one of which may be either FM2009 or FM2010 "When it comes out".

Along with some other games, one of which could also be Operation Flashpoint 2.

I agree but then again even with all the aids off the steering on GP4 always seemed a bit Scalextric-y

Yeah, it was good fun tho. But it never had the same level of destruction as GP3 which only took a wee knock to make the cars fall into bits Razz

One of the first games I remember playing was GP2 and I just remember how amazing it was. I refuse to go back and play it nowadays simply because I don't want to ruin the good memories I have of it Razz

Yeah I used to love the Grand Prix series, and Championship/Football Manager too. I've revisited Rome Total War again after seeing Empire was just released and realising my decrepit PC won't run it.
Anyone play any of the Monkey Islands?

GP3...variable weather throughout the race, and you could have different conditions on different parts of the track. This was like 2000/2001? Really makes you wonder why this doesn't feature in more games.

How appropriate, you fight like a cow. Smile I really hope they make another, there aren't too many games that make you intentionally laugh. I really liked Grim Fandango as well but I think we're less likely to see a sequel.
By the way...I got this scar on my face during a mighty struggle.
