Re: World GT - General Discussion
Just so you guys are aware, we are closing the sign ups and sign IN's threads at 7:30pm GMT so we can get the doc's all ready for Quali.
If you have a team mate who hasn't signed up yet then it might be worth posting IN for them to avoid disappointment.
Next reminder is of the nights proceedings we will have a 5 flying lap Qualifying session starting at 8pm GMT.
Then a shorter first race (10laps) and for the second race is grid results of race one and it will be longer (18/20lap) race including a pitstop between a preset amount of laps.)
Goodluck to all see you there.

If you just Edit your post in a sign-in or registration thread I can almost guarantee it will go unnoticed, especially if the post you're editing is more than a day or so old. Please always make sure to make a new post saying you have edited it or something.xVampirAx wrote:i changed from out to IN so i could race this evening and could i have invite to qualifying and race please.
Re: World GT - General Discussion
i shall keep that in mind for the future to just edit or at least make sure people know.to be honest it was very late in the day so i didnt even know if i was going to or not.

Awesome racing last night in Lobby A all clean and very very close racing. I do wish it was streamed as it would have put everyone on the edge of there seats.
Thank you too all who too part last night will try to be a little quicker in getting sorted out just a few connection issues got in the way.
Roll on Road Atlanta GP.

Re: World GT - General Discussion
Cheers for Hosting TJ.
Round 1 had its normal issues first lap carnage. Even after a restart someone could not avoid contact... Not even so much as a sorry.
With my laggout lap 16 race 2 it was a fitting end to this meeting.

Re: World GT - General Discussion
There was some great racing in A lobby last night. Lovin the standing start in race 1 with my Porsche
Although road America was not the best track for us. I had to have the widest Porsche to keep Dave and Blue behind me. The Aston and the ford had some serious straight line speed.

Sorry to be a nerd but having a 40mbps connection means absolutely nothing in terms of speed. What you really need to do is run a ping test. mbps just measures bandwidth (capacity) not speed. I could have a 1000mbps connection and still lag if my ping times were coming back at over 100 milliseconds where as someone with a 4mbps connection with a ping of around 20-40ms would most likely have no lag whatsoever.
Imagine your connection is a tunnel. having a 40mbps connection may mean you have a tunnel big enough to fit a lorry through but if your only transporting something as small as a person a GT car is gonna transport it a hell of a lot faster through the tunnel than a lorry would.
If you are using Wi-Fi instead of Ethernet that can also make a huge difference to ping times especially if you have more than 1 device using the Wi-Fi which I'd be surprised if there is anyone out there with only 1 wireless device in their house. Even your next door neighbour can effect your ping if they have lots of wireless devices running as this will interfere with you if your on the same channel as them.
There were a few people last night that couldn't get into any lobby so we made the decision to run another session to give people a chance to reboot their router and xbox's and personally considering this was a 3 lobby event I thought it ran pretty smooth being the first race of the series and can't wait for the next round.
Re: World GT - General Discussion
i couldnt even connect 2 xbox live as my net keeps deciding to drop at around 7 to like 11 and ive rang up BB Provider like 3 times in space of a week and nothing has been sorted, seriously thinking of changing again as this is getting stupid -_-

Re: World GT - General Discussion
Just a reminder that the UK clocks go forward an hour tonight at 1am so I believe the time gap for US/UK will increase to 6 hours?
(Optional) Could you make sure you change your Lumi light system decal to show your championship position after the first round.
Race length is still to be decided but it should be something in the ball park of 15laps/25laps for the two races. Remember signups/Sign IN's close at 7pm UK time so make sure your IN!
Goodluck to all and see you there.

Re: World GT - General Discussion
horribly sorry to everyone in Lobby B today :/
my driving wasn't brilliant in race 1, and nor was my connection, so I am sorry to DragonsYoung (great job hosting btw!) and EWM Takum1 for the incidents with you.
great fun trying to pass Dragons and Blaze in Race 2 though, too bad my car threw in the towel with me along with it.
onwards and upwards right...

Re: World GT - General Discussion
Right did a quick test after last night with Completely getting Destroyed by the Astons, and i can say the Aston is nearly a full Second Quiicker then every other car on the rest of the circuits, i know it got a PI Upgrade without it been announced it did. The British 1st has also done a test and he feels the same way, and he is even in the Aston so for 1 person in the Aston to say it is a Dominant car is kind of a no Brainer. but yeah lemme know what u guys think.

Re: World GT - General Discussion
ErebusV8 to be fair, both have been worse .. that tune was fast but chewed up its tires faster watching your grip go away was kinda scary lol.
Solar
We been at some of these cars for years. the builds fine some tracks suit some cars better. it wont be changed mid season so its a mute point.

Go test the Aston martin, then test the ferrari and test others, u will see my point. if the front tyre widths dont go down then the Astons are gonna just run away with it, so if he wants to keep the Aston with added Tyre Widths, surely other cars should get a PI Upgrade if not the Series is unfair on just more favoring 1 car.

Re: World GT - General Discussion
I tested most cars (no SLS, MP4, Mosler or Porsche) about 18 months ago when we ran these in the same spec as GT3 cars in ISCC.
Of the tracks on this calendar I have results for Road America, Nurburgring GP and Mugello.
Road America - Fastest was Ford GT - 2:05.545, Slowest was Viper GTS-R - 2:06.301
Nurburgring GP - Fastest was Jaguar XKR GT - 1:57.578, Slowest was Ford GT - 1:58.125
Mugello - Fastest was Lamborghini Gallardo - 1:50.909, Slowest was BMW Z4 - 1:51.791
Yes, the Aston was consistently towards the top but I never found it dominant in the fashion you are describing.
