Re: Any Final Fantasy Fans out there?
Final Fantasy VII was the first Final fantasy and first RPG I played and is my favourite by quite some margin. The materia system was really easy to learn and once you got the hang of it you could come up with some fantastic buffing combos to dish out serious damage. The story had me completely hooked and it's still the RPG I judge all other RPGs on. All the characters were great and had their own stories playing out alongside the main story, the villain is the best bad guy ever and a real badass. I think I've completed it about a dozen times so I've probably spent around 1000 hours playing it and I don't regret a single second of that .
My second favourite is FF IX, I enjoyed the story and the way you learned new skills from equipment was cool and they took it back to earlier Final Fantasy's in essentially giving each character a specific battle role.
FF VIII was quite complicated with its junction system and I never really engaged with the story.
X was cool, voice acting for the first time was a welcome addition (although I did find Tidus annoying). X-2 was alright, and I only rushed through XII since it was released on PS2 after Xbox360 was released. I also got the HD remasters of X and X-2 on Vita but haven't played them again yet.
XIII was extremely linear but still had an interesting story, upgrade system was an improvement on the sphere grid but the combat was made quite easy since it was largely done automatically for you.
I'm still undecided about XIII-2, I did like the fact you could tame monsters and train them so you could have them act as a 3rd member of your party.
I've not played Lightning Returns yet, might start it this week since you've got me reminiscing about Final Fantasy
I've got all the earlier games on my PSP (except for 3 which was on Nintendo DS) and have gone back and played 1, 2 and 3 and will get round to playing the rest someday.

my Self i dont like X-2 my favourite is Final Fantasy 10 as the Blitzball Game is just insane and the whole Story Line and Side Quests just gets me hooked and the Sphere Grid System is just amazing Final Fantasy 13 its okay just dont like it much in my opinion i think they kinda lost there way after 10 but thats just me.

Re: Any Final Fantasy Fans out there?
I'd definitely agree about them losing their way after 10. If I were to recommend 3 Final Fantasy games to someone that's never played one I'd recommend 7, 9 and 10.
Re: Any Final Fantasy Fans out there?
see mine are different there i think 8 is better then 9, with 8 they just improved the graphics of 7 with different characters and awsome Limit Break Moves dunno the correct term for 8, but with 9 they went more cartoonie and it kind of annoyed me but apart from other 2 i cant disagree at all top man Paul top man

Re: Any Final Fantasy Fans out there?
ahhhh, FFX! my first FF title, and still play it on occasion. i also bought the HD Remaster for my Vita. But last i played it, i had saved just before the Seymour fight on Mount Gagazet. my last full run on the ps2 title (us edition obv considering where i'm located), i had level grinded to the point where Yuna had traversed through all arcs of the Sphere Grid before i reached the final Save Sphere. needless to say, that final battle with Yu Yevon was cakewalk. lol

Re: Any Final Fantasy Fans out there?
I have yet to complete it, so got the remaster for ps3 and just gonna work right through it, its worth the time and effort lol buy wouldn't think there would be much difference between US version and European, but you never know with these games!
