Joker Lap Rules

For each circuit, there is a designated Joker Lap section. The Joker section MAY TAKEN JUST ONE LAP per each race of every round. The Joker section for each circuit is shown in the maps below:
(NOTE: The illustrations below are for information purposes, the map may not correctly depict the track choice but is to instruct the use of the joker lap only)

Sebring Club Joker Lap


Tsukuba Joker lap


Infineon Joker Lap


Catalunya Joker Lap


Road Atlanta Joker Lap


Penalty for Joker Lap violations: The Joker lap on each track is the shorter route around the track, if the joker is taken more than once a 20 second penalty will be added.
..........................................: You will not be penalised for not taking the joker lap.

Various Amounts of Grip Reduction will be used in all Race and Qualifying Sessions

The FIA World Rallycross rules on joker laps state:

JOKER LAP
An extra section of track that adds two-three seconds to the lap time. Each car must pass through this once in each race, failure to do so brings a penalty of 30 seconds.

Just if we're basing on real world?

The rules originally set out by mikey was the standard lap is the longer lap and the joker is the shorter lap.
Please see the pictorial.
This worked well before and see no point in changing a good format.
If you choose not to take the joker your race finish time will be approx three second longer.

For season 1, we tested it both ways, and found having just one short lap to be more fun overall. Never figured out just why that was, but we just had more fun this way.

The "Shortcut" Joker-Lap is how the Red Bull Global Rallycross (X-Games) do their Jokers.

+1^ Yeah I thought that a shorter joker was common practice after watching so many RBXGRX events XD

(Props if you can fully figure out what that means)
