PS4 Owners "Roll Call"

There are at least half a "lobby" of Any TORA members with a PS4 and acess to the Playstation Network, could those that are please make their presence known in the thread below.


The Original Opening Post (referring to Project CARS):

As we are now heading towards a more "platform agnostic" forum (President Hunter circa 2015), it's surely not within the realms of impossibility that there should be a PS4 section for Project Cars.

What do you reckon?

I think it can be great to have a PS4 section..

Not that I'm going to buy a PS4 but if TORA wants to grow even bigger I think we should do it..

Then TORA has a PC, Xbox and PS section

Another nice thing is that if you have a certain event or series for both consoles you can compare laptimes for example..

I often wondered why there wasnt a section for playstation, i talk a lot about TORA to collegues and such and the majority are on PS so it sucks to be them sometimes.
So yeah, im for it....

I think the problem for the PlayStation inclusion before was that the only racing 'sim' was Gran Turismo. And what was the point in trying to compete with GTPlanet. Now that P Cars can be used, this would be a great inclusion.

Not to mention, I have a PS4 and now a wheel that I can use on the PS4 and the PC

If there are people who want to race on PS (and can host) then I'm sure we can arrange something

That's why I joined. Project Cars on PS4. Bring it on.

I have a lot of friends at our gaming website who are getting PCars on the PS4, and if TORA start to run PS4 PCars comps then I'm sure the MVG Racing contingent will only grow; so I'm all for it and think it is long overdue to have a PS race series on TORA.

First we should even see how the appetite for Project CARS is in general on the Xbone post launch, give it a year and if theres a high demand for TORA to launch multiple series on PCARS, branch out onto the PS4.

I'd be long gone to another group by then and would never come back. That's like saying "let the people in Sheffield watch Motor Racing and if they like it, let the people in London watch it!"

Not really, this is a supply to demand site. And as this is mainly a XBOX community with the Forza game titles, the point was to expand as per community demand. There hasnt been a racing simulator that covers both consoles to my knowledge and, as with the release of project cars on both consoles, this would be unknown territory for this forum. Im sure you can appreciate that there is no point expanding to a new console and having 2 people turn up to the first race because there is no demand on the site.

I am hit and miss here. There is already a number of leagues branched out onto PS4's P Cars... Small ones albeit but I'm all for expanding TORA as a community as it would suit more people and branch out which is always great. It is always nice to get new people in here. I am sure staff could cater for the PS4 surely and it would be a great addition. It'd be a surprise to everyone but it's like TORA EU and US. You'd need different kinds of people to host it. But that's just my two cents.

Two extremes being argued over here, its not going to mean the forum will double in size overnight, and (pessimistically) would die a death in one race, lets just test the water shall we?

All we need is one lobby, one day a week/fortnight, just like we did with Race Pro, Horizon Rally, Grid Autosport, iRacing.

If it builds up then it works, which will mean there's going to require a PS4 related (one of each) Community Member, Steward, Marshall and Media Team member (Dont look at me I'm Irrelevant), not from the xbox side of things, mind you if the replay footage is going to be the same then a cross-platform race steward isnt a problem.

If it stagnates and then people stop running, just like they did with Race Pro Touring Cars, then this debate is over.

Over at Finish Line Racing we tried to integrate the PS crowd when GT5 was released. Unfortunately, it fell flat. Historically, gamers tend to stick with their own platforms. There are numerous games on both systems, yet typically there is little crossover.

That said, it can't hurt to give it a shot. Worst case, it doesn't fly for lack of interest. No harm in trying. I would just hope that the inevitable fan-boy wars don't erupt, as they often do. Both systems have their merits, it's a matter of preference.

I have no doubt that you are aware that I used to be on xbox, there's no point debating and arguing the toss over two separate consoles that are (in essence) exactly the same.

This is only a suggestion for project cars related events on ps4.

Actually, no. Wasn't debating or arguing anything. Just stating my own personal observations and experience.

Just a point, if you're going to run the same series on both consoles at the same time isn't that just going to split the people racing here and make everything less competitive. 2 okay series or 1 great series?

This is my fear as well. Painfully high chance the car count would be crippled (if successful) or, should you run one platform a day before the other, there's a chance the first round would merely become overglorified practice to the other (XPR and I were both guilty of this in TCC/NATCC).

Hailfire, if they want to race on xbox and not on ps4, then nuff said.

Again, I'm not asking for half of the current TORA population to "switch codes", I'm asking for accommodation of a group of people who have Project Cars on PS4 to be run on TORA.

If it works, then it works, we'll have to then think about what to do next. If It doesnt (and from the look of it none of you want it to work anyways), then we'll just call it quits.

It's not that I don't want it to work, I'm just being cautious. I'm sure if it gets done, it'll be done with some sort of thought going into it, not just blind seat-of-pants decision making.

I'd definitely be up for joining a PS4 league Garage. Assuming you still have the game. I read your frustrations in the other thread. It really does get good if you stick with it, but I'm using a wheel so not sure how it feels on a pad to be honest.

But yeah, let me know if you get much interest. I don't tend to come on here much anymore so drop me a PSN message if anything takes off.

The intention of ditching the PS4 version was to end up evenutally going back to xbox. But something is stirring, it may not be on here yet, but I think there's potention for something like 12 runners, if we do something we may just post it in the "other series" thread.
