Lobby settings should be visual as said by Matt but lobby settings on the rules were not updated, hence my qually was at full damage

Sorry if this sounds like a rant but I feel it needs to be said.
I built the sheets for this series and have given anyone who needs access to update things access to it. I see no reason why lobby times were missed out of this and it ended up screwing up the lobby orders.
I can quite happily give anyone else who feels comfortable enough editing spreadsheets the access to add times into this. I've locked everything on it other than the boxes you need to edit so that you can't actually break it (if you somehow do, congratulations, but it won't be anything that can't be fixed).
If you don't feel comfortable updating the sheets it that's also fine, I work in IT support so I'm at a pc 5 days a week (7 if you include home time) and I'm quite aware that not everyone has as much experience with computers due to working in a completely different profession.
If you expect me / someone else to do it for you, you need to personally give that person your data, or tell them where your data is, all it takes is a quick pm on the forums. If you don't I'm pretty certain they're not going to see it because unless you have literally nothing better to do, your not going to spend all night every night checking every single post / profile looking for screenshots.
Main thing to remember is that we all do this in our spare time, some lucky people out there get ton's of free time to play games but others have jobs / kids / other hobbies / other commitments (believe it or not there is also a big wide world outside). Therefore you can't expect everyone to be online to help for every race that happens.
We're all here for one thing though, and that's to have fun (I think), so if you all help out a little bit it's going to make the staff's job easier and everything has more chance of running smoother. Even if everyone in a lobby sends a screenshot of their results to all the members involved in organising series (please don't, spam tastes aweful) at least they're not gonna miss them.
Rant over, sorry lol

Updated sheet to show people in the right lobbies, and added results for lobbies 3 and 4.
I make that around 30 mins work so that'll be £6 please

Re: TORA Avon Tyres British GT Championship: Qualifying and Race Sign IN / Live Timing
No worries, my only issue with the docs is that I've never fiddled with them before, so I wasn't sure what did what and I didn't want to risk screwing things around. I ended up clicking something and it said I didn't have access, not sure what it was. I just copied the cells into Excel and worked from there.

Re: TORA Avon Tyres British GT Championship: Qualifying and Race Sign IN / Live Timing
I don't have an issue when people in charge can't be here, what I have an issue with is when the ball gets dropped so damn hard. I was quite frustrated that I was almost late to work, simply because I wasn't sure what was going on, and only took action once I realized it wasn't going to get organized before I had to leave. Honestly, If I wasn't on a rush to be somewhere, today would have been worse as I would have listened to my "Something will be done soon enough." instinct for a bit longer. Last meeting a lobby had to be scrapped together as there was no one around to organize a host. If organizers can't be here for a meeting, they need to communicate to others that someone else needs to be in charge. We can't have everyone sitting on their ass waiting for something to be done when there is no one there doing it.
Also, this personally affected my championship as I was expecting to have enough time to be ready for work before the first race. I could then participate in 1 round before I left as to not cost my team too many points. Instead I spent my time throwing today's event together, and had to miss race 1 so I could get ready for my own commitments.
What's done is done, and certainly people have certain commitments and issues they need to attend to, but this disorganization can't keep happening. It is corrosive to both the integrity of the series, and more so to the image of TORA and it's staff. If I were CT, and things were communicated that someone needed to take charge today, I would have been in every capable position to keep things running smoothly. Instead, things were pulled together 10min before the race was set to start, and no one knew what was going on.
Big thanks to all the hosts today for being ready to pull everything together.
I hope this can be received as nothing more or less than neutral constructive criticism, and hopefully things can be improved moving forward, especially as we race toward Forza 6.

Re: TORA Avon Tyres British GT Championship: Qualifying and Race Sign IN / Live Timing
Criticism is good. If you don't let someone know there is a problem they can't try and fix it.
The only boxes you have access to edit are the light grey boxes. If you hover your mouse over a cell it tells you what to put in. I don't mind explaining how it works if you don't understand something. I locked the rest because they have formulas to automate the rest.
The only problem I've had with the docs so far is not receiving race data. Not just quali but race day data too. I can't think of any way of making this easier or more organised because all it takes is for the host to add their data or sent it to someone who can.
Would a results thread be helpful? Where the only purpose of this is for people to send results to? This way all of the organisers can see the data so that way you can't send it to someone who isn't here. Not sure if this is what happened with the missing lobby but I didn't get sent any data.

Re: TORA Avon Tyres British GT Championship: Qualifying and Race Sign IN / Live Timing
TJ you had done 99% of what you needed to, and I have seen from before you are sometimes left a long time waiting for results
my main issue is the poor admin, competition changes being made and threads not being updated to reflect - without continuity there will always be confusion
also when I first joined TORA any major series like this would have 2/3 admin racing in it at least - to help with running it, and now we seem to have no support

What is often forgotten is that back in the FM4 days The staff actually didn't run all that much. There came a point where TORA effectively ran itself. This series has survived thanks to the efforts of Collin, the marshaling team and my own enthusiasm to make things work. A lot of the issues with the title have been out of our hands and we've done and said what we could to help get the changes required to make series like this a success. Someone had to go first, and we have never hidden our lights under bushels!
What has happened at a couple of rounds have been unfortunate and for that I apologise to those who haven't had the best experience. I've made the team aware of my reasoning for being absent. Having suffered two more deaths in my family last week I was unable to get involved and as many would understand, family and real life comes first. Collin was also away on a pre-arranged trip. The marshals team are more than capable of managing an event and I have a lot of faith in their ability to do so. Unfortunately, some instructions which were in place at Spa AND talked about publically here were not carried forward for some reason. This will be addressed.
Suffice to say, as with Spa, damage and tyre wear are OFF for all remaining rounds. This should help drivers who continue to suffer with a couple of glitches in the game that are affecting their races.
A big thank you to the guys for organising the racing on Sunday. I look forward to seeing you all on track this weekend at Snetterton.
Re: TORA Avon Tyres British GT Championship: Qualifying and Race Sign IN / Live Timing
If you plan to qualify tonight please can you post in the Snetterton race thread.
That way we can keep a separate list ahead of the session.
Cheers

might want to update the lobby settings thread to avoid further confusion, my qually lobby ran with full damage, and my qually and race lobby with real tyre wear
