Anyone here play cricket or watch it at least? I actually play and am part of one of the first allamerican born cricket teams. here is a link for an article about my team

Thats pretty cool, how did you get into that? I used to keep wicket for my school, I was a dreadful batsman though.
I can remember the pain I was in the day I learned why you shouldn't catch with your fingers pointing towards the ball though.

Hahaha, I think anyone who learned to play cricked learned how to catch a ball the same way!

I love the batting man, awful fielder, I catch like a girl.

Cool to see a yank into cricket tho!

Well heres how it happened. our school took a trip to a Revolutionairy war battlefield and while there, a cricket historian told us about cricket. when we got back we remembered how much we liked cricket and decided to start a cricket just fo fun, by the end of the year though, we had 4 teams with 40 people involved to play an intermural league. by the end of that season they picked about 15 of us to play on the travel team. we pretty much play colleges and highschools in other states. its a great sport to play but not as exciting to watch as racing but man does it test your focus and endurance

Yeah my problem with fielding is the same as watching cricket...not overly interesting. Just out of interest have some of our terms carried over the pond too? Like googly, pongo, grubber, daisy cutter, duck? To name but a few Wink

oh yeah we try to learn the terms. havent learned all of them yet but we're getting there. we mostly learn them from our assistant coach whos an old brit and our other coach from india. we also have two players of sri-lankan descent so our teams a real melting pot but for the most part, we are one of the 1st all american born cricket teams in the US
