British GT 2016 Round 1: Brands Hatch GP

Round 1 of the 2016 British GT Championship is upon us!

For those qualifying please ensure you are online from 7.40pm UK time to allow the hosts to get you in lobbies and underway on time. The sessions will start at 8pm prompt.

As a mark of respect to DeweyTee a long standing member of TORA who recently lost his battle with cancer we will be holding a minute's noise on the grid at Brands Hatch. All participating cars will be invited to hold their positions on the grid and rev their engines for the duration prior to the start of racing. Please note there should be no conversation during this mark of respect - engines only.

1:37.246 in the X-Bow so far.

Down to a 1:36.185 now.

Of anyone wants to run some laps later on today, drop me a message on XBL, can't wait for the opening round of I'm entirely honest!!!

So what would be a good lap time to shoot for here in a GT4 car? I'm considering running this series and I'm curious about the benchmark.

Wrcfreak is running 1:33.2s at the moment in the Ginetta GT4. Im doing 26s in the Ginetta GT3, mike is running 25s.

High 24s in Mclaren

Setups coming along nice on the McLaren can can high 4s Just need to do it consistently

High 22's - mid 23's in all GT3 cars.

How many laps ?

good to know I'm 5 seconds off the pace... and with a mistake every 3 corners I'm loving this game...

Not the only one in this situation, over time I've got the Ginetta GT3 down to a 1:26 dead, but still not 100% with consistency.

the ginetta gt3 is probably the worst car throughout the whole series, its also the hardest to drive and tune. i would avoid it imo, as its only good on a few tracks in the game compared to the other gt3s which are good on most of the tracks

To be honest I have got the Ginetta Gt3 on a good setup and runs consistently over a long run at most tracks. You just have to be careful with it

I'm currently hiding around the 1:26s consistently, but I'd like to break into the 23/24s, every tune I've tried, sends me backwards

Yeah but what issues are you having? The times don't say anything for what the cars doing.

I'm in the 26-27's. I don't think I have the skill to get much more out of it. The car seemed pretty good default for Brands. A little on throttle exit understeer and off throttle mid corner oversteer. I believe I changed the sway bar a bit and did some diff work for these issues. I think I have done all I can do tune wise. Except a little aero work tonight. Oh I upped the caster a bit over half for better entry turning and lowered the steering ratio, can't remember to what though.

after 20 minutes of some savage ruf tuning i got the porsche to do a 23.411 but it took some real effort to get the tune right. i re re tuned my ginetta and managed a 22.843 too, but its still a terrible car to drive

Due to a small family issue I'm not now able to host tonight's UK Qualifying session and I'm still looking for a US host too.
If someone is able to help us out today it'd be very very much appreciated.
