we weren't expecting a track change so we're two weeks behind on testing...
Re: MSA TORA Watkins Glen 12H - General Discussion
Cars get balanced for Monza, then track change, not frustrating at all lol

We're releasing all build rules at the same time
Re: MSA TORA Watkins Glen 12H - General Discussion
give the guys building the cars a chance will you,
They do a good job, and balancing things take time, especially when you consider it's not their job, they have to do this in their spare time for you.
Plus the race is over 3 weeks away so there will be plenty time still to practice

yeah i 100% agree. 3 weeks is a long time... any way plus what would you rather have more practice time or unbalanced cars?

Re: MSA TORA Watkins Glen 12H - General Discussion
Yeah I know how long it can take to balance cars properly. Just asked, because if the GT builds are ready why hold them back...
Re: MSA TORA Watkins Glen 12H - General Discussion
they're still not 100%, there's two or 3 things that need to be finalized before they're complete
Re: MSA TORA Watkins Glen 12H - General Discussion
End of the week has come, is anyone going to post these builds PLEASE. I would say that three weeks since the last race, should have been plenty of time to level cars that should, already be very close to level, from the last race. This is getting very frustrating. I, as have many others, got to get several cars for other series tried and tested, plus put my own series together.

Cars have been balanced just not posted up yet for some reason.
Also a fair few of the cars have had to be rebalanced with the community picking an awful track (imo).

Re: MSA TORA Watkins Glen 12H - General Discussion
No offence but family will always come before forza.
No I haven't posted them yet, but I will when I have a bit of spare time to go through everything and make sure it gets posted right the first time.
Still plenty time before race day yet. Now if you don't mind, I've been out all morning shopping and now we all need to eat.

I, as have many others, got to get several cars for other series tried and tested, plus put my own series together.
1) this track os vastly different to Sebring so certain cars had to be tested in multiple scenarios to see which gave it the best overall performance for some 25 cars plus
2) there was an update recently with which I was able to run better lap times AND 3 extra laps on fuel in the Toyota compared to the Porsche, so that was an adventure to work around
3) some of us juggle work and family, some work and family and study so getting time to test cars to get them as equal as possible takes a chunk out of the free time we had
4) we had all the cars balanced the week after Sebring finished for Monza, but then without any prior notice, a track change was thrown in the mix which took a week in itself to sort out (including which variant which I threw in this thread just for a decision to be made)
5) this is being done 80% by Ax4x and 20% being LMR (and a small bit of HCR). So if you want the builds to be posted you have 2 options... a) we release them early and unfinished and have everyone bit*h that they aren't done right anyway or b) put your hand up and offer to help.
If you don't like either of those options then just wait and they'll be out when they're ready

Re: MSA TORA Watkins Glen 12H - General Discussion
As stated already, I have not got the time either. If I had, it would have been put into making sure that cars were level for all the tracks and also making sure that the selected tracks could be policed before posting the series. That way you could have enjoyed your free time with your family, that, when I went to school, was called forward planning. You'd have found it more efficient way to produce this type of series perhaps.

Re: MSA TORA Watkins Glen 12H - General Discussion
You do realise I didn't set this up?
I took over running the series after daytona so couldn't exactly forward plan.
If you haven't ran an event before yourself then maybe you should try before commenting.
The guys behind the scenes are doing a good job so please at least show some appreciation.
Everything probably would be setup and tested for the whole season too if this was our day job. But it's not so 3 weeks to balancing all cars may only actually have taken under a week if you had 8 hours a day to work on it.
Just remember, we do this in our spare time so you can have fun racing. All I ask is that you show a little respect to the work done and if you do have anything to complain about. The least you could do is offer some constructive criticism and tell us what you think we need to do to improve
Builds will be posted either in a few hours or tomorrow

Re: MSA TORA Watkins Glen 12H - General Discussion
ive always offered my Help for balancing these cars, but i have not once been called up to help with it, i speak to a few guys they ask me see what i can do in a few laps in the Build from Sebring and i did and gave them my Data, as they were testing other cars so i gave them a hand, but i have not once been asked to join in for the Balancing of the Cars as a whole. so i just dont bother i give help to those that ask

Re: MSA TORA Watkins Glen 12H - General Discussion
I'd like to add on from what TJ has said.
Yes, I would have like to have had the whole series balanced (or at least the LMP/GT section) at the beginning, but, like anything that gets done here, people would complain that car x sucks at this track and car y is good, but next round car x is a beast and car y may as well stay in the pits, because nothing is ever good enough...
and what does it matter anyway, majority of teams change to the fastest car available anyway from race to race...
It should be 'You pick a car and stay in it for the whole season' but too late for that now...

Re: MSA TORA Watkins Glen 12H - General Discussion
People moan when they don't have a month to paint, tune and practice for a virtual race. Sorry, we'll all take time off work to keep you guys happy. Oh wait then we'd rush the balancing and it would be wrong and guess what? You guys would moan about that aswell.
We do all this off our own backs so if you don't have anything to contribute just stop badgering us and wait for the builds.

This is me saying I want to help.
However I've got to side with Solar on this as well to an extent, in the past I've also offered to help with certain things on the odd occasion and never once been called up on it, seems to me that these requests for help seem to have a degree of bias based upon who it is offering the help, the more well known members/stewards/community team members seem to be preferred options over the lesser known such as myself for example, but that's how I'm seeing it, I'm probably wrong. Regardless of that, this is me, stating here and now, that I am happy and willing to help with this series (and any others for that matter) be it testing/balancing/hosting whatever, all you have to do is ask me.

^^ i hear what ya saying dude, ive been called up to host but never to balance cars, idunno why maybe they see my Input and Data wont be as accurate as the likes of HaydieT (just an example Hayden) or other drivers, who may be quicker or a bit slower then myself :/ but it happens let the staff decide on the Balancing Crew is how its always been tbh.
also just a lil insight my Attitude on Track should not be a judgement on my Actual Attitude on the Forums just that alot of people seem to think im a idiot on the circuit from what ive been hearing lol.

Re: MSA TORA Watkins Glen 12H - General Discussion
Well until LM I know the Nissan is easy to balance xD Round there it only does 1 lap less than the Audi and is a monster on the straights, which means I can see the Nissan getting its wings clipped there but that's a story for another day, in the meantime we wait to see how this will pan out
And Solar I don't think others see you that way aha, the HCR bunch have always been one of the most respectable team from my point of view, haven't seen any on-track antics of that kind, just good, hard racing action
