the decision made today sets precedence so I thought a grown up discussion among competitors was not off base

This was completely out of our control but we do apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. If you have a problem with this, contact Xbox Customer Support.
Sorry guys. Let's look forward to Le Mans!!
Rethinking whether to even bother racing at Le Mans. Of all the choices that could be made, that was far and away the worst. Bob Knight chair-throwing bad.
Spent far too much time focusing on this event to get absolutely nothing out of it. It's one thing to drive poorly and deal with that result, which is fine and can happen to anyone, but to never have a chance at all? Oh no, that won't do at all.
I think someone is taking this a little seriously. we have all been affected, some other drivers havent had a chance to drive today either, not just yourself. These things happen and it is beyond the the organisers control. Feel free to contact Xbox Live Support and complain. As explained above, a re-run is most likely not possible, especially today.
+1
With this and the TURN VEC theres just no time. Its sad but its the first time in the 4 years ive raced on TORA that a race has had to be red flagged.
Well done to all who raced and those who didnt get chance, the race was runnin real well until the issues began. Roll on Le Mans
i've done a lot in for this race not just to get my teams sorted but to help run the race behind the scenes and yes i didn't even get to drive this race with but unfortunately this is out of our hand... may i suggest that you voice your frustrations out at microsoft...

It's sad I couldn't make a stint due to this ****. But i'm looking forward for Le Mans and hope for some good xbox live services for everyone!
Re: MSA TORA Watkins Glen 12H - General Discussion
yes sir and thank you and the other boys for ALL YOU DO
after some deep thought I feel a prorated points adjustment for shortened races could be the correct way to go moving forward...so we could start it now

Not sure but since it didnt make half way. Why not just do points off qualy? Mostly everybody had a chance to turn a lap there.

I do like this idea, but maybe like 75% points given out for qualifying order. But at the same time that may be frowned against, and I understand why, not the most solid plan.moesavy wrote:Not sure but since it didnt make half way. Why not just do points off qualy? other option is no points to anyone, but given the amount of time put in by a lot of people, that's a bad idea

To be honest what concerns me is the race was basically cancelled with 6-8 hrs left. Granted in this case xbox was screwed for a long time but why didn't anyone even wait to see if things cleared up? If things had been working again in that next 6 hrs it would have given people time to race. Most important thing is to minimize competitors not be able to drive.
In the end xbox was down for so long what could you do? Back up up driver willing to stay up until microsoft fixes things lol?

A real shame for the the Nissan crew. Leading stint 1 to finishing over 80 miles behind due to Xbox Live issues. Hopefully this luck turns around at Le Mans, because this car has the potential, but just isn't getting the goods where it counts.
Good race all who had their chance, sorry to those who didn't, and let's hope for a better one next time.

It would've over-ran until 6am by the time everything got up and running again. Plus, xbl didn't sort itself out properly (kind of) till 12ish anyway so there would be no point restarting
Re: MSA TORA Watkins Glen 12H - General Discussion
At first: Thank you very much @AdamWatson and @moesavy - that was the funniest stint I've ever had in this season. Pretty cool racing!
2. Its very sad for our team, that the third stint don't count, because we can get from the fourth to the second place.
But - [Censored] happens.
The further points are just my opinion but i think i will speak for the whole XBM.de family:
The red flag is a punch in the face for everyone. Not because of the race itself - its more because of hours, days and weeks of training, creating setups and liveries and of course spending much time with friends. To cut that after two stints hurts, but what should the Race Control do?
To abort the race was the only good decision! You can't count the third stint because of Lobby B, you can't continue with these XBL issues.
To continue the race on another date, maybe tomorrow, maybe next week or at the end of the season means that every team and every driver needs to have time at the other day. For example: If we had continued the race today, i can't drive, because i had no time. Maybe next week some HCR member had no time and maybe some LMR member had no time at the end of the season.
Again - the decision is hard, but its the only one that is correct at the end of the day. Specially in respect of the drivers who can't drive yesterday everyone should accept this.
Incidents like this makes "families" stronger. I said family because i think you give us germans a very warm welcome here at every race.
So now everyone should be stronger now and looking forward to LeMans!
At least, to the points discussion... Like i said, everyone here works his butt off to race at the Glen. Everyone should get his full points, because they do everything to have a good result! Its just a satisfaction to get full points after weeks of hard work.
Have a good time and see you in LeMans!

just to add to your point about hours weeks and days been put into the setups learning new lines and all that, a Lag out can kill any team off, i lagged out in stint 3 after only been roughly 900 ft behind Nvirus and was getting into a comfort zone and had the confidence to maybe catch up to him, but like ya said "[Censored] Happens" nothing we can do, i know the Red Flag works out in Favor for myself personally, and that is i havent been saying nowt, but great racing all around really Enjoyed my 2 Stints where i raced most of the XBM guys hopefully next Enduro we have less Issues
Good Racing Guys and see you next time.

maybe it would be a good idea to have a 'warm up' stint. just half an hour before the race or an hour just to get a feel for connection.

Altho the red flag was a tough option i do understand stopping it (my live only come back this morning)if it had not been stopped there would of been loads complaining they got no invite there games not working or they lagged out..least now they only complain about one thing lol. Even tho i wasnt racing i was giving full streaming coverage of B lobby and felt a little disappointed it got red flagged as i thought i did a good 1st time job i may even try talking next time lol..
But all in all a really tought decision on all but the right one..

from a experienced guy doing Live Comms and Streaming 5 days a week, Speaking about whats happening and such sure brings in a bigger crowd, but obviously when ya stuck for words cause no battles are going on try speak about the Individual Teams or Drivers you feel could make an impact and such. just some advice from my Personal Experiences with doing Live Comms for past 3-4 months haha

We did (Me, TjSteel, Solar and Shooter) and everything was working fine. It all went tits up in stint 2 and it was an issue that we couldn't do anything about. Everything was working well up until the point where it all went wrong

No racing series in the world is reliant on Xbox Live running smoothly either.

I was thinking say hypothetically xbox was ok before the last 2 stints started I think in the future in that type of situation it would be good to run those stints or as many stints as you can while still finishing reasonably close to the original finish time. Definitely xbox ended up being so hosed there was no more racing to be done. Equivalent to a sinkhole on the race track
Anyway I hope to see everyone in the next round as hopefully this won't happen again on an endurance.
Me yesterday;
Anyone have any footage from the race yesterday I can watch that is cool?

Good job we didn't try to resume any racing this evening because it's totally broken again. Xbox is dreadful.
