Welcome to the TORA Community Poll Championship!
Look! Fresh and empty!
This is the TORA Community Poll Championship (let's call it CPC) where the entirety of the championship is voted by the members of the TORA community forums! In fact, even the fact that this exists is because of you:
#TwitterPollTuesday Should we run a series where all the cars, circuits, and all other aspects are voted on?
— TORA (@TheReal_TORA) March 15, 2016
So there you have it; Here we are!
Q: How does it work?
A: Good question, I'm not sure either... Yet. There will be a series of forum polls, each lasting roughly 3 days. These polls will be timed such that by the end of the series of polls, we'll have a cohesive and ideally fun championship that the majority will enjoy. The car choices will probably be weird, the circuits will probably be new, the dynamics of the championship hopefully interesting.
Q: How are we expected to vote on a car when there are hundreds available?
A: Another good question but this is one I have thought of. The car poll will be a varied selection of cars that we do not usually use at TORA... Otherwise we might as well scrap the poll and race in whatever series the car is in anyway. There will be a mix of serious racers and some silly vehicles to choose from.
Q: Car balancing..? Car Classes...? Did you really think this through?
A: Only for a short period, yes. The field will be all using the same car that was voted on in the poll so we don't have to worry about BoP and we can just get on the tarmac and go. As for tuning and upgrades.... You can vote on that! There will also be votes for multiclass and, of course, which cars are used in each class, spec or upgraded, and so on.
The first poll will open on 26/6/16 from 20:00 BST and will run for 72 hours. You will be voting for:
- Car Choice 1
- Number of Car Classes
- Number of Rounds in the Championship
Feel free to discuss anything here... Not that there's much to discuss at this point. Further polls will depend on the results of those first three, although you can expect to vote on this such as:
- Circuits, day/night/rain
- Amount of races per round
- Length of qualifying
- Mandatory assists used
- When the championship starts
- Start time of race, and the possibility of multiple time zones
- Start procedure
- Mandatory pitstops
- Stock or upgraded, and to which PI
And more!

Re: Welcome to the TORA Community Poll Championship!
Multi-class races with 2 classes, 2 races each week so that everyone races in each class once. Qualifying handled with a 6 lap session in the lower class, applying to both races.
Ie. R class in bucket 1, A class in bucket 2. Qualifying session everyone drives A class, then once race lobbies are established, the lobby is split in half, one half races in bucket 1 and the other half in bucket 2, then for race 2, you switch buckets.
Qualifying in an A class car when racing an R class car would lead to some interesting on track action

Re: Welcome to the TORA Community Poll Championship!
I've been messing around with handicaps and whatnot and found that if you put the F1 at 35% power with the same amount of grip it's actually quite fun.
Re: Welcome to the TORA Community Poll Championship!
Reduced-power E23 F1s are actually incredible fun! It's like GP2 heheh

Re: Welcome to the TORA Community Poll Championship!
Fun Cup comes to mind, something I had planned a few years back but never came to fruition. Actually already have the car balanced and the series drawn up. Old shape Volkswagen Beetle with a twist, one class and a car that's never been used, could be something totally different and it's called FUN for a reason.
