Shining Stars at Spa.
The sixth round of the TORA Endurance championship powered by RaceTech is at Spa Francorchamps for the 12hrs of Spa. With such a great influx of driver talent and teams it’s sure to be a cracker of a race!
Heres a look at some of the teams and drivers and how they stack up heading into qualifying.
LeMans Rennsport
The return of the Red/blue dragon entries from the LMR squad last time out saw them bag a 2nd position overall at the mountain, however this time sees two new teams entered 'Green dragon and Yellow submarine'.
Can the return to form help them here?
As always from LMR they are armed with beautifully prepared race cars and a stellar driver line up, Talent from LMR Minardi and LMR Manthey in the Green Dragon entry will definitely give it shot of victory at Spa.
It’s still unclear if we will see the championship title holders back in the form of the red/blue dragon cars at Spa but it’s great to see LMR back at the sharp end of TEC.
F4H Motorsport
The legendary Fight for Her team are back again to take the fight to the rest for victory and will accept nothing else, with a truly awesome lineup from the #855 car with LRT Breeze, F4H Eggy and F4H Frame.
(Known for their quick change in strategy the F4H crews are nickname ‘the Audi sport of the virtual world’)
They are no stranger to endurance racing with an impressive tally of overall and class victories over the years in the TEC.
However electrical issues have plagued the team this year but a unexpected car change to a reliable Corvette C.7R means those heartbreaks are surly behind them!
The team is definitely a 'one to watch' and a fan favorite will almost certainly be at the sharp end after the first opening laps, and no doubt has the potential to take top spot after 12hrs of racing.
Xbox motorsport
A new team for 2016 but has made so many waves by taking GTE victories at the first 4 rounds of the season, the championship leaders did struggle for pace at Bathurst claiming 4th and 5th overall with their Pro and Am teams. They will want to get back to winning form for the final quarter of the season to be sure to claim the top spot!
Both driver line ups are very similar to what had been at Bathurst which they have good knowledge and consistent speed throughout a stint.
ATR with Team Parker Racing
(Austin Team Hunter Racing)
A new team to the TEC 2016 but not to TORA one of the original teams which dates back to 2008. However last time ATR raced was at TCC in 2014, would the lack of seat time be a factor for the crews?
ATR has brought two Bentley GT3 which officially backed by the real Team Parker Racing that competes in the Blancpain Endurance series and British GT.
Team boss ATR Dan wrote:
“I'm not expecting to be at the sharp end of the field. The competition is really strong and my talent isn't as great as people who are driving for LMR & F4H. However, in these kind of events, it's all about a strong team effort so if myself & my team mates have a strong, clean & trouble free run, we can expect to finish in the top 10. Maybe top 5 is we're really lucky.”
“It's great to be running in this event with the fact that TPR have seen and liked our virtual versions of the cars they run in British GT & Blancpain. It was a real pain to try and replicate but the effort is worth it.”
The team has a great mix of Pro and Am drivers spread across the two cars even with Virtual British GT champion Calum Dunn. Another great talent is loaned from LMR returning ISCC champion IRT YT Rice.
Be sure to keep track of the progress of the two cars from ATR, as darkness falls and attrition take hold these guys will surly climb up the standings.
Happy Cat Racing
The Happy cat army returns again at Spa with no less than 6 cars brought from Australia.
(These guys are nicknamed the AF Corsa of TORA)
Each and every driver in the HCR squad is mighty consistent and has been selected to drive a particular car to maximise points scored.
HCR have had a great season so far taking overall victories in the LMP class, a betting man would never count out a HCR victory at Spa.
If you could pick a team or two to watch from HCR it would have to be the Scuderia and Yamagura which will be at the front end of the field.
Ax4x
A season low in terms of entries that the team has brought to the table by Allied forces but they are no less strong in terms of speed and experience.
The merger of Ax4x and Team GearHead has already proved successful in America for Indycar, so this will be gearing them to snatch a podium if trouble strikes any of the front runners.
The second entry is the Cyber Racing car which has swapped it’s tried and tested Corvette C.7R for a Porsche 997 GT3 and gained the sweet side of competition featuring the return of Haribo Racing design after a 2 year absence.
In both cars the drivers have numerous years of racing experience within TEC and TORA GT but will this be enough to keep out of trouble when the battle starts raging on the circuit?
Benedict racing.
Just two cars from ‘Hunties boys’ but a steady run will prove to be there advantage as these guys are famed for their giant killing tactics.
BR have loads of experience from the team with drivers of the likes of Dino, JohnGalt and Hunty1981 to name a few where they may not have the overall speed of the front runners they make up for it in silently going about their race taking the places and climbing up the order to work their way up to the sharp end.
Will 12hrs be long enough for a giant killing run?
Esports and CARS
The drivers from this squad wiped the floor with the rest of the competition last time out at Bathurst having no mistakes and took the overall win with a small margin of 4 laps!
Over the last few weeks they have been rebranded and renamed and they mean real business, the team has a great pool of Sim racings finest drivers and tuners so will be expected to dominate qualifying and the race itself like they did for the CJ Wilson Cayman cup a few weeks ago.
To see a flawless 12hr endurance race be sure to keep a close eye on these!

Bravo!
Would be great to get paints from some of the teams so we can get images for them.
