Re: Touring Masters US Carlist and Builds
Built up a few of the cars I'm interested in, but noticed some things:
Vauxhall should have 386 HP
Merc should be allowed to use any equivalent rim style, right? +22 lbs
Alfa 155 build isn't working for me. I've been up and down the build 4 times, but I'm getting a PI of 670 and a weight of 2,623 lbs. Could it be missing side skirts or bigger rims?
Also, any reason why we aren't supposed to use the Race front bumper on the Alfa? It generates the same downforce as the Forza one but helps round out the widebody look.

Re: Touring Masters US Carlist and Builds
^ Alfa 155 can use factory race aero.
Also... the car's PI and Weight have been corrected. Check the revised build numbers.

Re: Touring Masters US Carlist and Builds
Check the Alfa GTV build. I get 385 hp. If I take off the sport fuel I get the correct numbers. Could be me...

Pretty much. AWD is tough to balance in with RWD cars.

You'd be correct.

Can we choose any car at this point? If so, I'm in.

I think it was F4H Diablo who told me it could be bad fast, if not OP, if tuned correctly.
Re: Touring Masters US Carlist and Builds
It has lots of potential, but it's more difficult to drive because it doesn't handle all that well. It accelerates the best from like 70-120 but it trails off after 135.

Re: Touring Masters US Carlist and Builds
Gentlemen,
Some of you may have noticed that I had a terrible time with the Merc last round. Granted...I can't tune for beans but even with my garbage tunes I'm rarely this far off pace. With my aero all the way down...the car was noticeably slower than any other car on track and that's where I lost all my time. I got passed on every single straight by every single car. Even if I got out of the corner faster, there was no way to prevent the car behind from getting past me for the next corner even if he was 40 ft back on exit. I was given advice to shift the car (waaay before red line) at 4,000 rpm before the last race kicked off but the tune wasn't setup to shift as early as recommended considering it up-shifted to 4,000 rpm. Even then, shifting early cut a half second off my lap times. Now I understand why I'm the only person running this car. It appears it needs some non-intuitive gearing and I can't seem to figure it out. Does anybody have settings for a competitive tune for the Merc they'd be willing to share with me? I know there was tuning and testing done on all the cars so they must have figured something out that I'm missing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Touring Masters US Carlist and Builds
Use full front aero and start with about 40% rear, and remove rear aero until the car starts getting too loose, then tighten where it seems to be "just right"
Gears... That's the rally motor, so use a lower final drive (try 3.2), and move the gears so that you're using gears 2-5, 2-4 on shorter tracks. That motor is torquey and needs to be short-shifted to go fast. The rest really depends on driving style. Basic things I normally do are 29/29 tire pressures, no more than -2.0 camber front or rear, 0.1/0.0 toe, 48%/152% on the brakes, and 40%/30% on the diff. Try those things (one at a time so you know the effect on the car), and see what happens. I know the Merc was in the 59s at Silverstone National, just have to figure out the gears, so much to be gained from that.

Re: Touring Masters US Carlist and Builds
I managed to get it down to a 1:00.9 with your suggestions (thank you) but I see there is plenty of opportunity to improve with a better overall tune. I can't get the power down on exit without losing the back end. Do you have any suggestions for this problem?

I have had the same issue with every car for the series in testing. I've found the most gains from diff settings. I ended up at 60a/20d for the Alfa at Silverstone, after trying small adjustments up and down on both accel and decel.

This could be a few different things. Diff is probably the culprit, but I'd also try lower the rear spring rate, as well as adding 1/2 pound of tire pressure to the rears. Diff tuning is rather strange in Forza- Normally the higher the accel, the higher the oversteer on exit, but it needs to be above 30% at least or you get one-wheel peel (and massive understeer). Experiement and see what happens. Also, if all else fails, 5-10 lbs of rear aero isn't a huge game changer.
