Sprint Series: Qualifying Format
All,
I think I've come up with a plan to make the Sprint Race weekends go smoother.
What I'm proposing is this: An overhaul to the qualifying format.
There would be 2 sessions mid week- Wednesday at 3pm EST and 8pm EST. These are short, 15 min sessions.
On Raceday, say about 1:30-2pm EST, there would be a final qualifying session.
At this point, the races would start at exactly 3pm EST. This moves up the time table for the races to be completed before it gets extremely late for those in Europe.
Any and all feedback is welcome!

Re: Sprint Series: Qualifying Format
I know I'm only 1 of how ever many have entered, but 1:30-2pm EST is at 4:30am for me which means i would miss qualifying and kinda gets rid of the point of racing
I know all the Euro guys will be fine with this, but yeah...
Unless I'm reading and interpreting wrong

Would the midweek sessions not work for you either?
That and in a case like yours, someone could run a session for you at a time that's more appropriate? It's tough with the Aussie's being about 14 hours ahead of East Coast US, I think NZ is 16?

Re: Sprint Series: Qualifying Format
my only question is how long is the Sunday session compared to the midweak one?
I can easily run the midweek one, 8pm EST is 11am, but just curious if I read it wrong meaning it's shorter than the race day one

Re: Sprint Series: Qualifying Format
This works for me. I can't make any of the qualifying sessions unless I have the day off from school so having it on raceday really helps.

Re: Sprint Series: Qualifying Format
So wait, do we have to do a midweek session AND the final quali on raceday? If so it would be better to just leave it as doing at least 1 session. (I have the same problem as erebus)
I can run the 3pm session but i am not waking up that early for a quali session.

Re: Sprint Series: Qualifying Format
Works for me as I work early on the Monday.
I read it as we would only do 1 quali session, either 1 on the Wednesday or if you can't make those there is one before the race on Sunday. This allows the race to be moved forward at least an hour.

Sounds good to me, since I work nights during the week.

Re: Sprint Series: Qualifying Format
I think it's a very good system.
We have the option to classify in 3 different sessions.
This makes the race day shorter and at an organizational level it is more practical.

Re: Sprint Series: Qualifying Format
No no Cozza, one session per driver.
Each session is 15 minutes long.
The idea is to give a bit of freedom to those who maybe wanna get qualifying out of the way earlier in the week, and so that raceday doesn't take so long. Sorting 3-5 lobbies takes a considerable amount of time, and we've seen how delays hamper the experience of the racers. I'm just trying to mitigate that as much as possible.
