Welcome to Club Racer D
Club Racer D is a throwback entry level series based on the sort of cars that raced in the 1960s and 70s in regional series on road courses around the world. This series will feature low cost minimally upgraded low horsepower Tier 1 Vintage Sport Compacts that are available right from the start of your Forza 7 career.
The series features the familiar "triple sprint" race format with race 1 grid set via qualifying times, race 2 a reverse grid of opening race results, and race three straight up race 2 results.

Re: Welcome to Club Racer D
Will these be run using the TORA registered numbers? Just curious how much working I need to do in paint/vinyl because that is not my strong suit. Thanks!

All series will use TORA numbers unless it is noted otherwise.
No need to get too fancy with the liveries. Racing stripes and a number plate work pretty well!

Just add flames. They add around 1000hp and you can just steal someone's layergroup

Re: Welcome to Club Racer D
I think someone here hit a 59.xxx there. To find the leaderboard, go to Free Play, select Vintage Sport Compacts. hover on Suzuka, hit X to select the variant, then Y to see the leaderboard. Just about everyone up top is from here.
Re: Welcome to Club Racer D
One thing I'd like to gauge and address is "cross-platform play".
In particular, how many racers signed up for this series are using a PC rather than console? It may be for the greater good to force this to console-only if there are severe connection and communication issues, but in the interests of a full field, at this point I just need to know "if" anyone entered is on a PC?

Xbox. But a team mate of mine has been on PC racing with us. We were racing all Saturday night with no issues and a couple other times before that.

Re: Welcome to Club Racer D
Quick question, when I decide on a vehicle to use for the series do I just buy it with homologation parts installed?

I did initial testing that way, then added the roll cage and race brakes and in most cases subtracted the oil and cooling and clutch to get back within PI. Sometimes, selecting a heavier rim and increasing rim diameter to 15 or 16 was also needed.

When I Homologated the rx-3 it gave me race brakes and the roll cage already installed I figure it met all specs because it was still considered the "class" we are racing in do I need to double check?

You're fine. If it has the parts, and fits the tire and power rules, it's all good.
Re: Welcome to Club Racer D
Thanks for the races yesterday - really enjoyed it. I do have one small request though - any chance we could remove/rethink the bonus points system? On the UK side with only a handful of racers some people are almost guaranteed at least 5 bonus points each night, and when there is only 1 point between each finishing place, 5 points (or even 10 and 15 in some cases) as a LOT of extra points, relatively speaking.
Its all just a bit of fun, and I do like the spirit of the bonus system, just not sure its entirely suitable in this case. And this is in no way motivated by the fact I was the only person to NOT get bonus points on the UK side

Re: Welcome to Club Racer D
I tried to save the replay after the first race at Suzuka in the US lobby, and it crashed the game back to the Xbox homescreen. Fortunately, I was able to get back into the lobby and party, but that's why I left after the first race.
I've been tempted to broadcast via Mixer while racing in this series, but I was curious if anyone has had technical issues trying that as well.

The bonus points system is just a way to encourage people to run unique cars, and works well for that. I do see your point that the UK side is small, which was rather unanticipated as the US side has two full lobbies of 15, so the larger deficits come into play. But remember the whole idea behind it is to keep it from being a lobby full of one or two marques.

I got lucky last night, as all three replays from both US and UK were saved and are shared.
Re: Welcome to Club Racer D
Had a nice time last night. I had a few issues of my own though. Second race i managed to go from 2nd to 1st instead of 3rd at the start. Almost caused a pile up so who ever was behind me i apologize. Did it again coming out of turn 2 on the first lap. On top of that, it felt like the tune on my car reset to default on race 2 and 3. either way though i still had fun. Next week will suck though because i hate turn 1 at Brands Hatch. lol
