In Race 2: ESC Darken, MRT ANM 79, THR Astonash and iAaronSweeney all show as having no tyre wear in my replay.
I did notice in Race 1 but it was not until around Lap 6 (when they tyres typically start yellowing in the HUD) by which time I thought it would be too late to call for a restart and had no idea if it was an issue isolated to myself.
When we got back to the lobby after the race, I checked the settings and they were all as they should be with damage set to simulation etc. - see image at bottom of post for verification.
For me, tyre wear came back for Race 2 and I definitely felt the car handling differently as the race progressed.
However, with an issue like this being present it needs testing to see whether it is the car, the track, the game and what can be done about it. I know going to cosmetic damage only would probably be a last resort but we need to find something to make it fair.
This has been a known issue in other series already.
The known glitch in the game here are the personal settings of the drivers in the assists menu.
Therefore we ask all competitors to check their personal settings are also set to simulation so as to stop this glitch from happening.
So to all competitors please check in future your assists are set to Simulation Damage as well.
If this is not the case then it can lead to an unfair advantage and maybe result in a minor penalty.
If the glitch does occur for you it is your responsibility to let the lobby host know so that in a case where it is crucial they can deal with the situation as and when it comes.
Many thanks.
It's interesting that you say it's a known issue yet there is nothing covering it in the rules, it's never been mentioned in a lobby and I don't see any sticky post about it - something the staff and marshalls should probably consider doing if there could be penalties handed out for it.
Granted, I've only been back on TORA (and FM7 for that matter) for a couple of months now but this is the first time I've noticed it. If it is something that has been discussed in my absence then it is entirely possible that it could happen to future new and returning members.
Hopefully my raising of this issue will promote some sort of awareness of this issue for others too.
i can second this i just only came back to Forza like a month or 2 ago and this is the first hearing off this Glitch, i have everything Set too Cosmetic for when im practising, maybe it would be wise, to tell everybody Start of Qualifying and Races to make sure there settings are to TORA Standards cause giving penalties out for this is stupid. i think there was something about this on the TASCAR Series and someone was really Bashed and was given Hostile Thoughts about his Ethics and such. just because he beat a few people. THIS IS TORA issue make it known before every Qualifying Every Race, and we won't have this issue yano.

It quite clearly states in the "Lobby Settings" all the settings that should be used. As Drift has already stated, it is YOUR responsibility to set your settings to the correct ones. Also it is "YOUR" responsibility to read all about any championship you have entered before you start your first qualifying session. It has always been stated to read through EVERYTHING" before you sign up for a series

The host's lobby settings (the only ones that are listed) were correct, which is why I included the screenshot previously.Ax4x MeaD 212 wrote:It quite clearly states in the "Lobby Settings" all the settings that should be used. From what I understand Driftin saying is that it is a conflict between a users settings and the lobby overrides which sometimes happens.
Eg. I have damage set to cosmetic for Career and Free Run. I then go in to a multiplayer lobby where the game should override my cosmetic damage setting with the lobby setting for simulation damage yet this does not always happen. Think of it as running TCS in a career race, going to a multiplayer race where TCS is forced off yet your car still having TCS enabled.
I changed none of my game settings between races. The lobby host changed none of the lobby settings between races. Yet in Race 1 I had no tyre wear but Race 2 I did have tyre wear.
The only thing I can think of is if the tune I loaded for Race 1 was last used with cosmetic damage and the tune I loaded for Race 2 was last used with simulation damage. However, that may be a coincidence.
If it's a known issue then it's certainly not something I was aware of and it seems that I was not the only one. Hence my suggestion for a stickied post, something in the rules or a reminder in future from lobby hosts that all local settings on the user's side must match those of the lobby prior to starting the race in an attempt to counteract the issue. Back in FM4 (my last Forza game) it didn't matter what my settings were as the lobby settings would always override them.
I don't want to get penalised for something I knew nothing about and wouldn't want anyone else to get penalised for being in that situation either.

The TASCAR penalty came about when the guy went 60 laps on fuel when everyone else had to pit between 25-30 laps. Had he pitted, there's have been no pen.
Re: TORA Carrera Cup 2018 - GENERAL DISCUSSION
I for one can vouch for MRT ANM 79 as he always runs on Sim damage, even in practise so it has to have been a glitch

Re: TORA Carrera Cup 2018 - GENERAL DISCUSSION
Thanks Kev, I can confirm I had sim damage on and had tyre wear in both races. Not sure what the issue was but hopefully it gets sorted as it's a slight advantage if this happens 😉

This will be undertaken by the Stewarding team plus TWO randomly selected drivers from the championship.
Any idea if this has taken place and any drivers been reclassified?

The consensus is that the following two drivers have been reclassified based on performance through the first two meetings:
OlivoTheJackal to Pro Am
jens0n 09 to Am

Good night of racing tonight with the HCR boys. I do have to point out that it's very distracting when people are fighting while the race is going on; I've been there and I know what it's like, but if you could, please save the squabbles for after the event. Other than that I'm looking forward to Monza GP!

I too am getting tired of having to repeat myself "save it for later, race now" Please keep squabbles for after the race and lobby chatter to a minimum as people are trying to concentrate during the races.

Being disruptive in the race lobby can draw a penalty.............
