Here is my car: Kurt Busch's 2004 #97 Justice League Car









For reference, here is the actual car:





This specific car was raced one time only by Kurt Busch in the 2004 NASCAR season in the GFS 400 at Michigan. In this race, Kurt Busch brought the car to a sixth place finish behind teammates Mark Martin and Greg Biffle, also running Justice League inspired liveries.



Now, I chose this specific car because it actually means quite a bit to me. I was at this race way back when, back when I was only 8. NASCAR was my favorite racing series back then, and Kurt Busch was my favorite driver. It was my second ever NASCAR race I'd been to. I got to see this car run its only race. I still remember seeing it run around the track. Michigan will always hold a special place in my heart because of that day. Later that year, Kurt Busch went on to win the championship, and you bet I was watching it happen, my 1:24 model of that Superman car in hand.

And I have to thank my grandpa for taking me. He introduced me to NASCAR when I was 3. Every time we were together since then, we'd talk about and watch NASCAR. We had our own little rivalry too. He was a Dale Jarrett fan, but I obviously was all for Kurt Busch. So a young vs. old battle on and off track. He took me to my first NASCAR race when I was 7. I can pinpoint the exact moment I became a gearhead: when the green flag dropped. And he was there with me at every other NASCAR race I've been to. It's because of him I love cars and racing as much as I do. I still remember the last time we talked, back in 2012. We watched the Daytona 500 qualifying and talked about the racing, just like always. I had always told him I'd get a seat driving a NASCAR. I'm not quite there yet, but I think he'd be happy with me at least doing it virtually. For now...

I'd like to think he's watching from somewhere, happy as hell I still remember that race and everything we did there, and that I'm running this car in his honor. On top of that, my teammates on SFM will be running Roush liveries from that year as well. And hopefully I can relive that day at Michigan through this series. So, I'm doing this series for the memories. For the nostalgia. For my grandpa. Godspeed to everyone racing. I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm giving this my all.

The Aric Almirola fanboy that I am kicked in. With the great privilege to run No.10 in my first season of TASCAR and have Smithfield on the car, I had to scrap my custom car design and replicate Almirola's exact 2018 Smithfield scheme. Just like the custom car design, the Mobil 1 sponsored car will also rest on the Smithfield based scheme. Smithfield will be on the car for 5 races and Mobil 1 for 3 races. The third race for Mobil 1 will be at Watkins Glen, which means I will be running a throwback to Ryan Newman's No.12 Penske Dodge from 2005-06. Excited to make my debut in TASCAR and introduce Nitro Motorsports to TORA!
