Re: Mighty Mites Lap Times
1:04.4 after 10. Another track where there's not a lot to separate the field.
I will say this: Mikey, I lamented MV Short Reserve, but I'll be damned if it didn't produce crazy racing, especially in Race 2. Silverstone Nat'l is considerably wider, so I expect this week to be more of the same

I'm only capable of a 1:05.3 in the Abarth but did a 1:04.9 in the Corsa. Going to be working on both to try and figure out the next step both for AUS and the NA series.

Maple Valley Short gets a lot of flak in either direction, but for whatever reason it produces some great racing in lower class low HP cars. Would I ever use it for full sized car, say American Iron? Hell to the no. But for cars like this, it's always been uber close racing, if not "too close" at times.
Silverstone National is another track that has always seen some great racing in lower class cars, but at least seems to draw less skepticism when it pops up on the schedule.

This is one that I absolutely hate, but it is what it is. They could burn this layout and just keep International and GP lol

Re: Mighty Mites Lap Times
I don't like lapping either track TBF but the racing is undoubtedly closer.
@ DJ: The Abarth lacks the top end so it doesn't surprise me it's slower than the Corsa.

Re: Mighty Mites Lap Times
Seems that the Fiat or Vaux are the cars to have, is that what everyone is thinking too? I've been using the Ford, but may end up switching after this week.

The Ford is the hardest to drive/extract time from. A lot of people went with the Vauxhall but I went with the Renault. It requires constant tweaking to the gears, but it is pretty much on par with the Vauxhall. The Fiat doesn't have the top end of the other 3 cars, like 2-3 mph off.
IMO Vauxhall > Renault > Fiat > Ford

I love the Ford, but....might be playing around with the vauxhall for the rest of the races.
Re: Mighty Mites Lap Times
The European series looks like a Clio Cup with the odd Punto, Fiesta and Corsa mixed in.
Re: Mighty Mites Lap Times
Yep, Clio is WAY faster than the ford. I was over a second faster in about 20 minutes of zipping Silverstone Nat.

Like Diablo explained, the Ford takes a lot more tuning to get the most out of it. That being said, a Fiesta has been winning most of the European races, however that is with AMS Mead driving it.
Re: Mighty Mites Lap Times
Long Beach East: 1:01.1 Forza clean, 1:00.79 "TORA clean"
That being said, not sure if I will get a clean lap in Qualifying, and if I do, it will be mid 1:02s

what is TORA clean, not crashing i presume, or not hitting walls?
Re: Mighty Mites Lap Times
TORA clean is 2 tires off is not cutting. Pretty much what used to be okay for Forza clean before they changed the track limits.

Re: Mighty Mites Lap Times
^ Pretty much. TORA Driving Standards specifically say
"Two tires must be within the lines of the track at all times"
which is now more lenient than Forza's track limits, when before it was the opposite.

Re: Mighty Mites Lap Times
I put the ribbons up to physically find the track limits because they're kind of random. I believe I had the Corsa at a 1:00.4 in testing (clean), the Clio I have to figure out the gears for, right now it's bogging in nearly every turn.

I hate how the clio sounds, sounds like one of those CVT-equipped cars.

You should hear the Vauxhall at high revs. Sounds like a washing machine full of ball bearings.
