TORA TASCAR Season 9 - Round 7: DeweyTee Memorial 250
Welcome to the final round of the 9th season of the TORA TASCAR Cup! Our last race will see us head four hours south from Daytona to the beaches of Miami to the Homestead-Miami Speedway. While normally associated with NASCAR series, Homestead has hosted series such as the CART Indycars, FIA GT Series, Grand-Am, and most recently Trans-Am. When the circuit was opened in 1995, it was based on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway's nearly flat layout. However, in 2003, the track was redesigned to its current 18-to-20-degree variable banking that makes the oval a challenge.
Required Tune - The tune for Homestead has been shared by SFM Varus and is called "Nascar 2019 Spec". PLEASE NOTE: Part of the tune is that you have to run a 25% power handicap. Make sure that you are using the handicap when you are preparing for the race.
Sign-In - As we currently have almost 60 drivers signed up for this series, we will be requiring people to sign-in before each race. Drivers can go to TASCAR ROUND 7 page on TORA's ORM to sign in. You will only receive invites to qualify/race if you sign in. You have until an hour before the race to sign in.
Qualifying - Qualifying for TASCAR will be a timed session lasting 10 minutes. One 10 minutes has expired, racers will finish the lap that they are currently on before stopping on the back straight. If a driver does not complete a clean lap, their fastest dirty lap time will be recorded and they will be placed lower than the slowest clean lap time. Remember that drivers should be/appear online 15 minutes prior to qualifying start, and should keep in-party chat to a minimal. Please check the Lobby Settings thread for which overrides are and aren't allowed.
Race - This race will consist of 150 laps, plus the one warm up lap. Drivers are expected to be familiar with the rules and regulations come race time. Please check the Lobby Settings thread for which overrides are and aren't allowed.
Pit Stops - There is a minimum of 2 mandatory pit stops during the race. Remember: Because of the pit glitch at Homestead, drivers have to slow down to 70 when entering the pits.
Starting Procedure - The race will start with a typical 80 mph 2x2 Rolling Start towards the end of the warm-up lap. Remember that each row of 2 cars are not to accelerate to race pace until THEY pass the Start/Finish line.
