6th Annual TORA INDY 500: Qualifying

Qualifying for this event is very different from your usual TORA procedure. Not only can you qualify once... or twice... but thrice!
But these are not free re-runs. If you choose to qualify more than once, your previous times are deleted!
So TORA... are you brave enough to post a one and done? Or will you risk it all for another 0.1 MPH?

Qualifying 1: Bump Day

Ok maybe a 4 hour video isn't that quick...

1. Just like in a regular session, your fastest clean lap, as determined in-game, will be your lap time for each attempt. If you don't get a clean lap, no time is recorded.

2. Each qualifying run will consist of 6 total laps.
   Lap 1 will be the out lap, and will not be scored.
   Laps 2-5 will be flying laps, and will be scored.
   Lap 6 is the cool down lap, and will not be scored.

3. On lap 6, each driver must stop between Turn 1 and Turn 2 on the pit exit road. If you don't stop, your time is not recorded.

4. Once each driver stops, the host (that would be me) will record all of the times.

5. Each driver can make a maximum of 3 attempts. By completing Lap 2, the attempt is considered valid and your previous time is void.

6. There will be only 1 lobby for qualifying, open from 10AM-2PM EDT. Sessions will be run consecutively.

7. Drivers who have not already set a time will be prioritized for each session. Drivers wishing to re-qualify will be invited in the order they sign up to run again.

8. Drivers that are unable to make the 10AM-2PM EDT session are permitted to schedule 1 early qualifying run, between May 17th and May 21st. If you partake in an early run, you cannot run during Bump Day, and are locked into whatever time you set in the early session. Contact a TORA staff member to arrange a private session, subject to availability.

Seems easy enough right?

This is perhaps one of the hardest events to make the show for on TORA, so grind those laps, polish those wheels, and keep all hands and feet inside the vehicle!

Qualifying 2: Fast 9 Shootout

After Bump Day concludes, the top 9 drivers (along with 1 teammate each if applicable) will be permitted to remain in the lobby and practice.
At 2:30PM EDT, their times will be erased, and each driver will one by one have 4 hot laps solo to qualify for the pole position.
The 9th placed driver will go first, then 8th, and so on until all 9 drivers are finished.

So how do I sign up for Bump Day?

If you register for the race, you are not automatically able to qualify.
Please use the template below to be eligible to qualify. If the template is not adhered to, you will not be invited!
Only one driver may be registered to qualify per forum post.
Drivers will be permitted to qualify in the order they register. If you do not join, I will go to the next driver and so on.
Drivers who have not set a time will be invited over those who had, regardless of total attempts made.
It is possible you will be removed from the lobby to allow a drivers to make an attempt. If that happens, just register again.
