TORA BED Racing Series - Rules and Regs.
Welcome to the TORA Big Evil Design Racing Series! This championship will be hosted on iRacing and consist of 10 races on the iRacing platform.
By registering for the series, you agree to the rules and regulations written in this thread and the TORA Driver’s Handbook. Please take time to carefully review the following regulations carefully before entering. TORA reserves the right to alter this rules package as needed for the purpose of fairness and clarity in competition.
This rules package is not fully inclusive. Please refer to the TORA Driver’s Handbook for full definitions of terms relating to basic regulation in TORA competition. 1. Championships
1.1 Driver’s Championship:
This will be a competition between every registered driver regardless of team affiliation. The points at the end of this series will be the final total after the inclusion of ONE dropped round.
1.2 Dropped Rounds:
The dropped round will be the competitor’s lowest score. This includes rounds with scores of 0 points, but not rounds when the competitor received a penalty
2. Livery Rules
2.1 This series does not have a set of defined livery rules that each Competitor must adhere to in order to participate. Typical TORA Livery Rules (found in the Driver's Handbook) will be in place.
2.2 Trading Paints is not required for this series, however, it is recommended.
2.3 Numbers have to be visible on the side panels and roof of the car.
3. Car and Setup Rules
3.1 This series will feature the ACRA Menards Chevrolet Impala and will be using iRacing’s fixed setups. Cosmetic rebranding of the car will be permitted.
4. Hosting and Marshals
4.1 Registered drivers should receive invites to the TORA iRacing League. From there they will be able to join race sessions. If you do not receive an invite, please alert one of the league's admins.
5. Qualifying
5.1 The fastest, clean lap from a Competitor, as denoted by the timers in the game will be recorded for qualifying.
5.2 Qualifying sessions will last 8 minutes and consist of 2 laps.
6. Race Starts
6.1 The start of each round will be a rolling start. Any restart after will also be a rolling start.
7. Series Format
7.1 The grid for the race will be in qualifying order.
7.2 NASCAR points system, 1 point per position.
7.2.1 We will use the iRacing built-in point system to track points.
8. Bump Drafting
8.1 Bump drafting is not recommended in this car due to how the nose is shaped.
8.1.1 It is not recommended to bump draft, but it is not outlawed.
9. Inappropriate Voice Comms
9.1 Attacking drivers over race comms will not be tolerated during this series and will be dealt with swiftly.
9.1.1 First offense: Warning by Race Control
9.1.2 Second Offense: Muted in chat for that race
9.1.3 If escalation occurs either in iRacing or Discord, voice comms will be revoked for the remaining races in the schedule.
9.1.4 If even further escalation occurs, then drivers will be subject to TORA’s enforcement policy.
10. Intentional Wrecks (AKA "Gaming The Race"
10.1 Intentional Wrecks will not be tolerated during this series and will result in the following:
10.1.1 DQ’d from race
10.1.2 One race suspension
10.1.3 If needed, stewards will look at the wreck and cast a judgment on indefinite suspension from series or major points penalty
11. Unintentional Wrecks
11.1 Unintentional wrecks are wrecks that happen unintentionally and are usually racing incidents. Examples include:
11.1.1 Self Spin
11.1.2 Getting loose or tight and wrecking someone else
11.1.3 Running someone too tight and wrecking someone else or oneself.
11.1.4 Bump Drafting and causing a wreck
11.1.5 Any other infraction that race control sees fit.
11.2 Repeat offenders will face the following enforcement:
11.2.1 First infraction: EOL (End of Line)
11.2.2 Second Infraction: EOL and Pass-Through
11.2.3 Parked for the night.
11.3 If a driver has been parked in the previous race, they start off the next race with one infraction with no penalty.
12. Cautions
12.1 Cautions will be initiated by iRacing unless the crash is too severe and needs a caution.
12.1.1 Examples being wrecking off on the apron and taking out a lot of the field.
12.1.2 Cautions will be local cautions only for road races unless there are more than three people involved in a wreck and/or a track blockage.
12.3 Leader will catch up with the pace car and follow the prompts made by iRacing for pitting.
13. Race Restarts
13.1 The pace speed set by iRacing.
13.2 Lucky Dog car will pass cars on the OUTSIDE unless otherwise noted by race control
13.3 Initial start will be started by Barry the Flag Man
13.4 Additional restarts can be started by the leader when the pace car pulls onto pit road
13.5 If someone jumps a restart, race control will give you a pass-through penalty.
13.6 Do not bunch up the field to get a better restart.
14. Pitting
14.1 Pitting under Caution
14.1.1 Speeding and other infractions on pit road will not be cleared unless it is unavoidable (avoiding a spinning car)
14.1.2 Please stay to the right on pit road entry under caution until you approach your stall.
14.1.3 Passing on the outside of the car in front of you on a restart is allowed.
14.1.4 Passing on the inside of the car in front of you on a restart is not allowed.
14.1.5 Do not do this:
14.1.6 If a car is stopped or spinning before the restart, then black flags for all the drivers affected will be cleared.
14.2 If multiple people pit at the same time as you (Ex. Superspeedway race) while pitting under green, you can enter the pits anywhere you want but get the right as soon as you can.
15. Pit Stops
15.1 There are no mandatory pit stops for each race. However, pitting will be necessary.
15.2 Competitors are allowed to pit as needed for damage to their car in the case of an incident.
15.3 There will be one quick repair per race.

17. Postponed Meetings
17.1 Sometimes a round/meeting may be postponed. TORA Staff and the Race Director will decide whether the meeting is canceled or moved elsewhere on the calendar.
