9th Annual TORA INDY 500 - Race
The race time is 1:00 PM EDT on Sunday, May 7th.
If you qualified for the race it is automatically assumed you are "IN" for the race. If you don't show everyone who is below you will be bumped up in the grid order.
Race Instructions:
There are 2 warm up laps, then a 3x3 rolling start. Each row may only start racing once they cross the start/finish line. Someone in the lobby (Preferably the lobby host or Marshal) remember the race time that the pole sitter crosses the start finish line. This can be shouted out for all to hear so hopefully more than 1 person will be able to remember.
All drivers will complete all 200 laps of the race. When you cross the finish line to complete lap 202 and start 203 (laps 1-2 are warm up laps and lap 203 is the cool down lap) it is up to YOU to remember what the total race time is for YOUR race. We recommend taking a game clip showing both of these times to remove all ambiguity. This is very important for gathering results. If you cannot remember or don't get that piece of information you will be scored behind all others that do remember their total race time. Those who did this event last year know exactly how this works and all this information will be stated numerous times through out the race.
Warm up laps will be completed at 80 MPH, with the 3x3 grid forming between turns 3 and 4 at the end of lobby lap 2. The fastest qualifier in each lobby will start on the LEFT side, with the third fastest starting on the RIGHT.
If you are in lobby 3 or higher, you may run safety cars for incidents involving 2+ drivers, since these lobbies are not scored for the overall win.
Have fun guys, be respectful of your fellow competitors and as always i wish you all the best of luck.
We really don't know what the future of Indycar racing on Forza holds, so let's enjoy this potentially final edition of the TORA INDY 500!
Pit Stops:
Forza Race Regulations will be enabled for the sole purpose of removing tire walls. As such, drivers are to adhere to the following:
ENTRY - No change, you just need to have all 4 tires to the left of the entry line. Full speed ahead!
EXIT - FRR does not remove the wall on the exit of the pit road in T2, so you will exit the pits BETWEEN TURNS 1 and 2 and keep a LOW LINE until up to speed.
