far? an hour? You have never been to florida then have you? I live about 20 miles away from Cape Canaveral(Kennedy Space Center). It takes me 30 minutes to get to orlando, 2 hours and 30 minutes to get to Jacksonville and Ocala. 5 hours to get to Miami and 4 hours and 30 minutes to get to Monticello(Talhasse). To get from Miami to Jacksonville is about 7 hours.
Re: Trying to get into racing
well i decided it would be a good idea to go to the track and watch some racing and get my name out there with the other drivers. maybe get some more tips

Re: Trying to get into racing
Nightrider, you can also look into dirt track racing on the local scene, that's what I do. Many great drivers have come from dir, Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart, Carl Edwards, Kasey Kahne, Clint Boyer...yes Nascar names but Gordon and Stewart know their way around a road course too...anyway I'm into my car for the basic...$2,000 I can even build a chasis for about $650... motor for around $1,000...a lot of local series let you race at 14 and national groups at 16 so your really at the perfect time for that...

Re: Trying to get into racing
dirt tracks alright. its fun to watch but im really looking into strictly road courses. i hope to use this as a jumping off point for GT racing or some form of open wheel. also i have no room for a dirt car, i have enough room in a shed for a go kart (barely i have to clean it out. fun.) i love dirt track and world of outlaws though

where is that? UK? Keep in mind for a budget he is on...im pretty sure he wont be traveling to europe in the next year...im going to Brazil in october...and that is $290 for one ticket...and im taking a whole team over...plus shipping tools, tents, and Karts over by shipping container...and that is about $6,000 and brazil is not very far....but Europe...that will be expensive(for shipping). Im going on a trip with some school mates to go to Ireland, Britain, France, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Sweden, and Denmark....and that is about $354 per person...
Re: Trying to get into racing
nah lemons is basically banger car racing in the us. around here though even jallopis cost as much as a kart so ill take the kart lol.

Re: Trying to get into racing
silencer doing all that as one trip for $354 is amazingly cheap, it would cost us if we went a fortune, our school have gone to tanzania to work for a month and it cost them £3000 per person thats righ £3000!!!!!!!! thats $4,939.40

$354 is just for the plane tickets....and it's per person....that's not including train, Car rentals, bus, ferry, food, drinks, items, hotels, and plane ticket home.... and its 20 people going....so you can imagine the money involved...
