The Jacques Villeneuve... appreciation... thread
I have a vision.
I want a great driver in my Mugen Motorsport team. I already have three race winners, but there's an edge missing.
So I want the great man to be my reserve driver.
After all, the Stig isn't busy until November.
And then I want Jacques Villeneuve to be my reserve's reserve driver.
No, wait, I forgot about Jean Deniz Delatraz...
Right, Jacques as my reserve's substitute's replacement driver.
Let's face it, he's turned his hand to almost everything - and failed.
So that got me thinking. Why don't we have a thread dedicated solely to showing our... appreciation... of the one and - thankfully - only, Mr Jacques Villeneuve.

I will kick us off with this.
Someone in NASCAR was actually willing to let him back into one of their cars.
How does the great man do it?

Seriously though, what happened to him? He gave Hill a good run for his money in his debut year and then he won the title in 97. Then after that...well...
Re: The Jacques Villeneuve... appreciation... thread
Replaced by Takuma Sato at BAR
I'm still gutted from when he passed Hill on the last lap at Hungary 97.

I just realised something.
This was posted a day before the one I posted above.

So Villeneuve's return to NASCAR didn't last even a day!

Predictions for where the one and only will turn his hand next?
Tin tops?
Oh! How about the Clios!? Then no-one would notice him crashing all the time, cos EVERYONE crashes in the Clios!

I like Villeneuve!!!
I miss drivers who are outspoken and don't give a whatsit about the corporate image.
He had a bad rep but to be honest he shouldn't have come back for Renault and BMW. He was past his best by then

P1 Powerboats, he can make his crashes look even more dramatic!
Or he can join Seb Bourdais back in Champ car...they can crash together

JV is a alright driver i mean give him a good car, with a good bit of testing nd he could win. think his best drive was spa or monza 1998 where he came 3rd in that s**t williams. f1 needs him back in my view

Re: The Jacques Villeneuve... appreciation... thread
IMO its time to move on JV, he has been in this business of racing for a long time now, the peak of his career was 1994-1997, with his two amazing years in CART and ofcourse his F1 championship. Its too late for him now.
Stick to NASCAR I say.

Looks like he is still in talks for next season.

At least he's fit, even after all these years of not driving anything

Re: The Jacques Villeneuve... appreciation... thread
And in the melee that was Montreal at the weekend HE WASN'T LAST!!!!
4th was very good and tbh I'd LOVE to see him back in the paddock at the very least.
