Battlefield 1943
Last night, I noticed TVR_Fan, lfcnicklfc, and BrnoutJerzey online playing Battlefield 1943. I jumped in their game, and had a bit of fun with them. A few good games there guys, shame my team was awful.
Who else has this, as it would be good to arrange a few sessions?

I think I killed you three times in a row with my sniper rifle, but one of the kills I got on you was this:ckBrenneke wrote:Last night, I noticed TVR_Fan, lfcnicklfc, and BrnoutJerzey online playing Battlefield 1943. You were running on the other side of the map, and then I tag you once with my sniper rifle. And then I shoot you again, but in the head. While having the following happen to me:
Some Foliage not letting me get a good view of you.
You running
Other then that, I hope the next time you jump in a game you get a chance on are team.

Re: Battlefield 1943
that was the only "if". but racing is usually an all day thing anyway, i know at my track they have open practice from 9-10:30 and then my class races later in the day (around 2 or 3) so after breakdown and everything id be getting home orund six or seven. my track is like a one hour drive
Re: Battlefield 1943
oh well I figure it was close to you- mine is probably about the same distance but I'd have no way of getting the kart to the track

Re: Battlefield 1943
I played through my trial. It was good and all, but I dunno I juts felt that it was a bit boring as I spent most of my time running around trying to find people and crashing my plane. Might have been better if there had been more people that i knew in the game. I still prefer CoD.
Re: Battlefield 1943
It's always been a criticism of Battlefield games that there is so much map to cover in order to find the fighting, but it's something I've never really minded. There's plenty of vehicles available to get you places.
Think I'm gonna go play it now - on the proper tv too, the missus is out!

Re: Battlefield 1943
I was always a huge fan of the Battlefield games, but since playing CoD and its nitty gritty realism then I have kind of gone off of playing the laid back games. Even Halo 3 has not been touched since I got CoD WaW cause its just nothing compared to it. But I used to play that non-stop.
BF: Vietnam was awesome

Re: Battlefield 1943
I loved BF: Vietnam too. My brother and I had our PCs networked in our bedroom when we stayed at home, and we used to fly the Cobra together, one of us in the gun turret, the other flying the thing.
But the Desert Combat mod for the first BF was my favourite of them all. Swooping in over the Iraqi base with a A10 Warthog, hovering over a command point in an Apache, shelling enemy positions with the M1A1, it hasn't been bettered for me, not even by BF2.
My favourite ever was when my brother, my mate and I had networked computers in the same room, we were online playing a map that was essentially a big city. We all jumped into a Black Hawk, which I flew, and they manned the miniguns. I would make slow passes of the city, allowing them to use the door guns to spray the streets. It was just like out of Black Hawk Down, it really was incredible. And it went on for ages, I fully expected to get shot down, cos I kept really slow and sometimes hovered to let them get a stable shot, but no-one hit us.
One of those special gaming moments that sticks in your mind forever.

Re: Battlefield 1943
I had a *cough* cracked *cough* version of the first game so I couldn't play it online. I got the mod and I have to say it was like playing a new game, it was just so good. Your right, even BF2 and BF2:MC couldn't match the raw excitement that the guys who made that mod could create.
Hopefully there will be a BF3 that will have massive amounts of players online and they might be able to recreate that feeling. But you know developers, they always make a counter weapon or vehicle for every weapon or vehicle in the game. And they always tend to have unbeatable lock ons
