2009 1000km of Suzuka - Sunday 20th September - CLOSED

another podium and top 10 finish

My first outright sportscar podium since season 1 of the GT's. So it's been well over a year and a half.
I know technically I did at RA but this one is better as I did at least finish the race
Looooong time coming.

Obviously, a VERY disappointing race for me. Suzuka was the track that I knew I would have problems, and guess what happened, I had problems. Qually was embarassing as all get out, when I was 4 secs slower than rest of the GT1 field and was put into a lobby of GT2 and GT3(with two GT1, but one lagged out.)
Then, the race was even worse. I had the speed, just not the cornering, so I was easily overtaken by lower classes. I was struggling the whole race, to keep the Aston up to par, but it obviously wasn't gonna happen, and I was losing patience. Tires were a problem when I found out that the Aston stop turning completely at like 40% tire wear. End of the race, found me with just enough gas to literally pass the finish line and run another lap with 100% worn tires.
Overall, a pretty miserable race. I thought there were a few more races left in the season, so I thought switching wouldn't be so much drama. I still had fun and Nur is gonna be REALLY fun. I have some experience getting some cars into top 1000's at Nur, so I'm pretty sure I can scrape it together.

i did amazing job on the Audi R8 for me and BritRacer what found me finishing top of GT2 but unlucky for Britracer he could'nt find the speed i did but atleast we made excellent race for our first time in the LMS

Great race however for Leighton Phalanx with a 1-2 finish in GT2. Also, me and Heat have been mixed up in the championship standings.

Strange occurences at Suzaka.
After not having played forza in about a month due to my championship challenge on Race Pro i was pleasently surprised by my laptime in qualifying. putting me in second position for the race. Biggs led us round and got a good jump on the start of the race but to make matters worse i caught the sand and bogged down. Once i returned i was at the back and fighting all the way up eventually getting to 5th following battles with race legend, ckbrenneke and sgtmoobs, at this stage the front runners were starting to pull ahead and from 30 mins to the asteroid strike i was constantly gaining and losing ground on race legend which kept it interesting.
Then yes an asteroid strike, a 1cm space rock crashed through my car with such force that it ruptured the engine, thankfully due to safety standards in current cars i survived wich only burns after the resulting explosion. When i came round however i heard that only 2 minutes later the same freak accident occured to Shantzez and Race legend and while concerned for their health was gutted that it had happened to me first and lost me 2 places.
The insurance company will not pay out for a new car due to Freak Act of Nature so i am currently dusting of season 3's gt porshe to flog and get the finances. Sorry aj
