BTCC Finale @ Brands Hatch
This deserves a thread of its own! This could potentialy go down as one of the greats of the BTCC, I can foresee some Silverstone '92 tactics happening here. So, a look at the standings..
Colin Turkington - WSR Team RAC BMW 320i - 249 pts
Fabrizio Giovanardi - 888 VX Racing Vauxhall Vectra - 236 pts
Jason Plato - RML Silverline Racing Chevrolet Lacetti - 221 pts
Three drivers, three manufacturers, three teams, each driver has a team mate that can run up front and perhaps do a bit of jiggery pokery.
Fabrizio Giovanardi has been Penalized for his move on Jackson at Rockingham, so he drops back, bringing Jason Plato more into contention. Colin Turkington has always been up there, but has never won a title in the BTCC, Giovanardi is the Italian superstar, a dominant driver in Europe in the ETCC and WTCC who came to britain and scored 2 titles. Jason Plato has not won a title since 2001, and has missed out on several occasions since returning to the series with SEAT in 2004.
It could all go bananas at Brands, looks like we will have to wait and find out

Think you mean jiggly pokery :L
Re: BTCC Finale @ Brands Hatch
I think Turks has this one, barring any slip ups on his part or getting involved in someone else's accident.

Re: BTCC Finale @ Brands Hatch
If he qualifys like he did at rockingham hes gonna have his work cut out. Gio NEEDS the other Vauxhalls up there to help him rather than Neal in a gravel trap and Jordan fannying about near the back with Chilton and Pinkney.
RAC are getting the Team Mate situation right (with Jelly anyways) and Vauxhall need to sort theirs otherwise their last memories of BTCC are going to be loosing the Championship to a Privateer.

Re: BTCC Finale @ Brands Hatch
Didn't realise they were running on the Grand Prix track, can't wait
And thats a very nice statistic there Nick Shows that the BTCC is still the best championship in Europe for touring cars.

WOOOO go Tom Chilton!!!
This looks like its going to be an epic finale! And for once theres no F1 interfering with it (if you watch the F1 live anyways)
Where are they By the way? (what track i mean)

Re: BTCC Finale @ Brands Hatch
Yep, Vauxhall just seem really shady after that, like the baddies in a film
But, CONGRATULATIONS TURK! He had to learn to drive all over again, his car was going down the straights at an angle!

Im sorry, but did u see the same race. it may have not be 'evil' but it was at best un-sporting. Besides it just goes to show that when the racing was at its cleanest we had the best racing. take the second half for instance, three a breast and lots of quality overtaking.
Re: BTCC Finale @ Brands Hatch
in realation to everything else, they came out looking like the bad guys, thats what im saying.

Re: BTCC Finale @ Brands Hatch
i dont see it as any worse then Seat shipping an extra car from the continent or jellys pass, (pronounced driveing through) on Giovanardi at Silverstone.
Team orders is one of the things that makes BTCC so exciting
(and as i recall it was saint turkington who took neal off the track in the final race )

Woah oxymoron alert. (english term not insult) how do you gently and saintly take sombody off of the track to take their place away?
(if i did that in a Tora event i would be anihalated by the stewards!!)
Re: BTCC Finale @ Brands Hatch
ah but it was touring cars and you could say matt backed off soo much he left turk no space.
